It's Europe or bust for me this season, as I will need the extra revenue to keep covering my new keeper's Ronaldo-esque wages - the other new arrivals aren't exactly poor either.

In other news, I see that jimbob has resigned from Collie club after almost 9 years. The vultures were quick to swoop in and the club will likely start the slide back down the league once a series of managers and facility downgrades eventually take their toll.
In a similar vein, the former club Norwich, now called St Neots are down to a 35,000 stadium and without a recognised keeper. They would struggle for results in league 3, so they stand a good chance of setting some records this season ...

I had no midfield for that match. Every single one of them injured apart from a child and one tolerable supersub.
I think there'll finally be a new champion this season. I'm now semi-retired from the game and would just outright quit but I'm too emotionally attached...
@Lee - you've got Cap. I aborted with him due to his insane wage ceiling. I think he must have been with a club with a lower level TC for a bit for his wages to be that 'low'. I hope you saved up money to pay his wages...

Yeah, the keeper's wages are definitely out of my comfort zone but I want to try something different.......nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Rumour has it a bunch of oil rich Saudis have bought the Pixels in a bid to take back the Canvey Cup.
Canvey Cup!? I didn't realise we were still competing for that.
No, the new regime is aiming a bit higher than that.....(cue maniacal laughter and hand wringing).
Yes the Canvey Cup is still played for. Unfortunately the cup has rusted to the bottom of our trophy cabinet. We'll get the janitor to see if he can prise it off later today.

Meanwhile, having become the first team to successfully stay up with more points than they scored goals, Scammonden Athletic have set themselves the easier task of finishing in the top half this season. It's looking good so far. European competition qualification might be too much of an ask, but who knows. It's just nice to be back in the top half and win more games than I lose. The recruitment policy of signing clapped out England players at the end of their careers might cause a few problems further down the line, but if dealing with problems when they arise rather than in advance is good enough for modern day politicians then I don't see why I shouldn't give it a go. Good luck all.
Tyler Barbour was due a big one - for the England national GK he'd been bad this year! 21 shots vs 24 for LGA says draw might have been fair result, but I'll take it :)
