Well done, antboy! Runner-up and then league champion shows it's no fluke. If you can strengthen your side, then try to do this. There are a lot of strong teams in League 1, but it is possible to survive and then, eventually, thrive. Both of last season's promoted teams have survived though 15th and 17th place suggest that it was not entirely easy, but Cloughie could well manage a top half finish this season, after his survival in 17th last time round.

Priorities are definitely a new keeper, and a better striker, but I'm in a decent position - Level 9 Stadium is on the way and I've got some good youngsters coming through - the problem is, my best players at the moment are pretty average for a League 1 team. Hopefully those youngsters will come good... fast!

well just had a look through my results for the season, which confirms what I knew

my away form destroyed my season, I won only one away game, and that was against last place ipswich.

I really dont understand how one team can be so bad away and nearly make the playoffs on home form alone. I only have one audience player in my team and I dont play him away.

Bolly, i think quite a few of us seem to suffer away from home. My formation seems to work perfectly at home but away i struggle apart from the lower teams. Miles off playoffs tho! Lol

As mentioned before guys you need to play a 532 formation and build your strongest team around that. If you look at the top teams in division 1 you will see this is the adopted and preferred formation as the match engine seems to favour this.

And also worth mentioning that Antboy has taken his team from the lowest division in Season 7 (Level 5), right upto the top! Congrats! (I'm happy that I can finally add another team to the "High Climber" record!)

i have been playing 532 away all season ( excepy a couple near the end) it doesent work

The other factor is team strength, i think in the majority of circumstances, if 2 teams are more or less equally matched then the team playing 5-3-2 will have the edge.

Well done on your perseverance Antboy, joining some of the others who've climbed from the bottom division right to the top.

Still a long way for any of us to challenge for the title (I'll be happy to survive for a few seasons in the top flight this time) but it can be done by those who don't expect to win things straight away.
