European Champion League / European League season 18 preview

In order to encourage those teams in European battlefield this season, I made a short preview of every teams' group situation and hope we can raise our league ranking as much as possible :)



FC Bayern München (European Champion League Group 8)

As the Champions of Bundesliga last season, FC Bayern München has a lot of world class players, and has no obvious weakness in every position. However, the Group 8 is not a good drawing. It contains Austria Champion, Israel runner up and BIH Champion. BIH Champion may be a little bit weaker but it's still not easy to get a qualification seat.

FC Schalke 04 (European Champion League Group 7)

Based on 2 wonderful wins in Champion League play-offs, FC Schalke 04, a long history and competitive came to the group stage. They will face to Austria runner up, 3rd of Serie A and famous team of Premier League - Strood City. In fact, it's not a bad drawing but still not easy.

The new manager of AC Milan and Strood City's unstable performance will be the opportunity.

Kalimdor's Revenge (European Champion League Group 1)

A not bad drawing but we all know there is no weak team in Champion League. Kalimdor's Revenge will face to 3 champions of 3 different leagues - Bulgaria, Belgium and Malta. Each teams' strength is very close (Latvija may be a little weaker)and we can image the defense of each matches will be the key of qualification.

Bundesliga's legend team (6 champions ever) came to European League Group 1. In this group, there is a strong opponent, Netherlands team - Cambuur B. Fortunately, the rest other teams are all newbie of European League, Bayer 04 Leverkusen's capability and rich experience will ensure them to qualify next stage.

Böblinger Dizzlers (European League Group 11)

Böblinger Dizzlers, the dark horse of Bundesliga last season, continued his good performance in European League's Qualifying Rounds. After beating Akureyrí(Iceland), Tristar AFC (Armenia cup winner), FC Brest (Belarus cup winner) and HNK SISAK (Croatia, really a wonderful win), They came to the group stage - may be the first time in team history, really a great achievement!

However, the drawing is perhaps the worst, very bad luck. :( In group 11, there are Finland League runner up, Swizerland giant -17 times league champions and ofer10 - last season's Champion League winner! What's a "group of death". Hope Böblinger Dizzlers can use his tactic talent to be a dark horse again!

Quelle Böblingen (European League Group 12)

Based on last season's cup runner up, Quelle Böblingen qualified to European League group stage firstly. It's a rather good start but considering the group opponents, the pragmatic target perhaps is to get more experience of European matches. Donetsk may be the close opponent but the other 2 teams are obviously stronger than Quelle Böblingen. Hope they can be another dark horse but whatever result can be accepted.

Last season my defense nearly never work in the cl (in bundesliga its maybe the best). To reach second place in this group with Haifa and Korndackeln it must work this time very good. First game today vs Korndackeln is very important for me cause in the next days the matchtimes looks like not the best and i think i fight vs Korndackeln for the second place in the Group.

Lets see if we can get our lost seat for international matches back.

Nice summaries Leon. I doubt I'll be able to accomplish much in my group though.

after 50% of the groupstage it looks like not so good for us :/ but actually we are in front of england

The current ranking is no sense because it is based on the performance before group stage.

After group stage finish, the new ranking will be updated. Based on current 3 round result, I think we are behind enemies!

well i just dont have luck.
in the champions league i should have 7 or 8 points now the way the matches were. but my team only managed to get 2 points. i hope i can at least get the third place but that is not very easy now...
