What goals do you all have for this season? What are you looking to see out of your team? Personally, I want to see improvement in my defense and I want to see a couple of U-21 guys break into my lineup. I also want to upgrade my stadium and training center...I'm good with youth center for now.

By the end of this season I want to get enough depth to be able to play at 19:00 and then at 00:00, especially since that does not affect all teams to the same extent ie I donot want the schedule to tie my hands / force me to adopt a strategy especially since the managers of teams playing at wierd hours donot seem to login again.(forgive me for my nrh rant about the ridiculous scheduling)

I'm all about upgrading facilities this season. I've already upgraded my stadium and 3 levels of catering, next up is fanshop and training center. I sold out the first game in my 4,000 seat stadium, so now I'm wondering about the feasibility of going to 8,000. I'm hoping the squad is in decent shape, will be able to add another young created player next week, maybe that will help but is probably more for the future. Youth are not any good yet, have to wait until probably next season for a chance to have useful kids come out of the academy. Should have a good chance of finishing mid-table like last season, but the goal is to push for promotion this year.

I'm very confident that upgrading my stadium shouldn't be an issue when the times comes. I sold out my match against a team with one of the lowest popularity in the league, so when the higher popularity teams come to town, I'll sell more tickets!

It looks as though I may have gotten rid of to many of my older players at one time. Right now I'm just trying to finish mid table this season.

Karl, I did the same thing a couple of years ago and I couldn't be happier. I sold some players in their upper 20's because I knew their value was only decreasing, as they were some of my better players. I was able to fund my Level 6 youth center and level 3 stadium with my takings. As a result of selling these players I was almost in the relegation playoff, but my team is on the upswing with my younger players!

Just got knocked out of the Cup by a League 4 bot team. Really should have won, but just couldn't put the ball in the net. Frustrating.
5 of the 16 teams in League 2 have made it to round 4 of the Cup: Mesa, Beerschot, Real Madrid, Beach City, and Appleton. Each of the League 4 groups have 2 or 3 representatives remaining. Is this because there's not much difference in quality, match engine hijinks, magic of the cup? In any case, good luck to our remaining clubs!

I think that it's because the lower-level teams get the home matches and home field advantage exists in the match engine.

Just noticed that our current league leader is a BOT :)

... and second place hasn't logged in for a week. Shame on all of us.

Transfer window opens this Friday - what moves are you planning to make?
I want to clear out 2 of my old guys that I'm currently using as subs, 2 young but over 21 players that aren't going to make the first team, and 2 21-year-olds that aren't as good as my other youths. Squad will be pretty small after that, but will be a focus on the better players and brighter prospects. I don't think I'm a buying club yet, but I might take a look for good deals on young players.

Those 2 teams have pretty decent teams compared to others.
There was a bot n the top 4 in the previous season as well.

I will be selling a lot of players during the transfer window(or at least I will be trying to). Squad will be pretty small after that but I m planning not to login between when I put players online to check the market.

Please keep in mind that buying a young player in this transfer period will allow you to train him for another 20 games for the rest of the season. It is like another plus season for him, so you could re-sell with much higher price in the next pre-season 7 transfer window.
This is something to consider if you want to make lots of money ;)

Thanks for posting that Tintin, it's a good point. I've been thinking like a small club, it's time to step it up. It doesn't make much sense to buy players when you're starting out because you've got no money, need to improve facilities quickly, and can't train players well. But now with the level 3 stadium I've got some cash flow, and level 4 training provides some amount of player improvement, might be time to start buying. Really should have a larger squad to have more players out there earning me money when they get sold later. Just need to find ones that I can actually make a profit from. Ones I could afford early on were garbage and didn't get much better so I lost money on them.
