I did pretty well last season and saw an opportunity to shore up my biggest weakness - offense.  It took spending 500m on a 28 year old with ~7.7 scoring.  Despite his age, his insane scoring should keep him relevant for at least 5 seasons.  I also picked up an upgrade at midfield.  Overall, I'm competitive for first for average star value, but I don't know if that will be enough.  I'm still lagging quite a bit when it comes to my midfield, even if my new forward is great.  My keeper is close enough to the other top keepers to be considered within the same talent tier, but he's still noticeably weaker.  My defense might be good enough to compensate for that deficit though.

I finally managed to start the upgrade for my second team's stadium to level 11.  It looks like some other second teams already got there because it took me so long to save up the money to make the upgrade despite spending on almost nothing for many seasons.  It'll take roughly 100 days.  My plan for my second team going forward is to ignore the premium youth and training facilities and just focus on building up a warchest before trying to be competitive.

I hate saving for the stadium 11 upgrade. I'll get to around 500mil and see a player that I want or need and then next thing I know I'm starting over again.

In Costa Rica, there are 4 teams that have the 200k stadium built including cdowne and myself.  There are 3 US managers playing and we have 1 bot team open in League 1 if anyone wants to join as well.  It is a pretty competitive league.  I'm building YA3 and will soon do TA2 there. 

In the US, I've been really happy with my YA4 players and will soon begin my TA3.  I haven't really spent anything on the transfer market as I'm sticking with the facility build route.  Hopefully continue to finish mid-pack before moving up to pressure for a NA spot in a few seasons.

One weird thing about my 2nd team in Costa Rica is that my popularity there is almost exactly equal to that of my US team now even though I started in Costa Rica about 10 seasons later (season 17 USA vs. season 28 CR). I've done double fanshop for both teams at times, but in general it seems like Costa Rican popularity increases much faster than the US.

To check that out, I just looked and even the Riverhounds who are dominating are actually losing popularity this season.

The starter bonus increases your popularity gain for the first 4 seasons.  Using 2 good staff members in your fanshop compounds that bonus.  It might also help if your second team is more competitive and winning more games starting out at the highest level.  Perhaps you were more efficient about building your fan shop for your second team.

Popularity does approach a limit where the fans lost begin to outweigh the the fans brought in or promoted according to the formula.  That's what I found when I tried to estimate the maximum possible popularity a while back.  It's not a problem since excess popularity isn't really needed once you're around 10m popularity.

This season has been a minor disappointment overall, but it was nice to get a win against the Riverhounds even if it doesn't really affect the standings much.

After struggling offensively in previous seasons, Uluturk and Dun have been great pickups overall, and they didn't have penalty specialist and set pieces specialist until the very end of the season.  I'm looking forward to what they can do next season along with Ibbot's impending growth into a top forward for my team and the national team (I'm going to start focusing on his special attributes exclusively starting 3/17).

Congrats to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on another title and Sidney Town FC on another Cup!  Good luck to everyone else in the remaining games of this season and next season!

Thanks Ulysses.  I am plesantly surprised with the performance of my team this season. 

I have a couple of difficult decisions to make on good older players.  I have youngsters behind them who are ready to play and am more likely to be able to seel them now.  However, if I want to make a run at the league title or champions league (which is a real longshot) I should hold on to them.
