Season 50 (24)

eng Stephen >> fredag januar 31 - 18:57

We’re underway with season 50...

Seaburn Beach has been flogging anything that moves as the club looks to raise some serious cash. Club officials are allegedly rumoured to have devised a series of elaborate pyramid schemes and there are plans to build a series of dubious quality timeshare apartments on the Costa Del Seaburn.

What this money is for no one is quite sure yet.

Well it looks like my first European journey will be a short one (Expected of course). In all honesty i did not expect to get the 2nd Qualifying round lol. But hopefully that will not be the last European adventure and maybe next time i might go a bit further. As for the league if i can get anywhere near last seasons fifth i will be more than happy. Good luck everyone.

Well, I was bored so I came up with the table below - based on your average rating, where should you finish now the preseason transfer window has slammed shut?

Team  Average rating RANK

Seaburn Beach 17.60 1

Cardiff City FC 16.45 2

Nottingham Forest 16.40 3

Newcastle United 16.20 4

Deeprijay Town 15.85 5

Fuchsia FC 14.85 6

Oxford United 14.50 7

CandasXI 14.05 8

Tottenham Hotspur FC 14.00 9

Tholling Wood Rangers 14.00 9

PremierFC 13.90 11

Forever We Are Wolves 13.75 12

Bolt On Wonderbras 13.70 13

Deportivo America 13.45 14

Norwich FC 13.45 14

Liverpool City 13.35 16

Strood United 13.30 17

Winchester 13.20 18

Aston Villa 12.75 19

Blooming White Roses 12.25 20

The prediction is for another year of triumph for Seaburn with 4 other teams battling for those European places. Blooming White Roses are doomed to the drop with Villa in the playoffs and a close fight between 4 or 5 others to avoid the other playoff place. If you do better than your rank, you've done a mighty fine job, if you do worse, maybe you should sack yourself and consider a career in basket weaving. Having had a decent season last year when I won the Super Cup (my first trophy - don't tell me it doesn't count!), came 3rd in the league, lost in the finals of both the Cup and Youth Cup, topped the U21 league and got my best performance in Europe (round of 16) I'd be happy with a repeat this year. It'd be nice one day to just win one of those big shiny trophies though...

Yes, winning your first big shiny trophy is one of those experiences in life you never forget where you were. For me it was the Angolan cup; we won on penalties and halfway through them someone knocked at the door. There was no way I was missing the pens so he had to wait. When I did finally answer I greeted him with a joyful "I've just won the Angolan cup!"

Here was pretty good about it., considering the circumstances.

The star rating thing is interesting. Cardiff City has the second highest average? That’s a real surprise to me. You’d expect that team to make more of an impression based on that.

I’m fully expecting last season’s top three to be the top three again. Newcastle has started strongly though and Liverpool is doing something a bit different with his formation this time out. It’s a bit early for that 7.7 talent striker of his to be tearing it up, but in a few seasons he’s going to be essentially unstoppable. That’s the third or fourth strong supertalent he’s had, though this one is properly outrageous.

Tomorrow marks the opening of Bolt On Wonderbras new 200,000 capacity stadium.

Champions Seaburn Beach will be the first visitors and are expected to attract a bumper crowd.

Sadly for the crowd, they may not see a spectacle of attacking football as the team bus, staff cars and even the lawn mowers are likely to be parked in what will probably be a futile attempt to prevent Seaburn from spoiling the party.

As the car park hasn't yet been resurfaced, Wanderers fans will also be given dispensation to park their cars in front of the  home team's goal (the second half may be delayed by some hours while they move them at half time, so expect a late night).

That's funny my 200k stadium is now complete and my first game in it will be Friday against Seaburn Beach.

Breaking News: Bolt On Wonderbras have put in an order for a bigger bus.

I am claiming a 3-3 draw on a technicality as my team scored 3 of the goals.

Nottingham Forest are  managerless, or should we say Reading. Some good players there.

Well - out of the European League because of a last minute penalty conceeded by my goalkeeper. Not a good season for our coefficient - only Seaburn left flying the flag. League looks done and dusted in favour of Seaburn, so another season of trying to hang on to a European place for next year and seeing at what stage I get beaten in the cup by Seaburn!

Cancel the bit about losing to Seaburn in the cup - lost on penalties to Wolves this time for a bit of variety. Just a slow crawl to finishing 3rd or 4th in the league to look forward to.

Drawn against the reigning CL champions in the QFs. Having looked at his side and scouted it, I might as well just play the kids for the experience.

Only a 1-0 pasting, but lost my GK to injury and my team promptly lost its unbeaten record in the league as a result. Grrrr.

@Bakerman looks like I'm set to take the inevitable Cup beating from Stephen this season in your place, then!

Seems our 12th seeding is about right.  Surprisingly, we're not the dullest team in the division - well, not quite...

EDIT: Oops, jumped the gun for a moment there - not lost in the cup just yet!
