dienstag mai 12 - 09:45 Goodbye to Candas and Dean Smith, who seemingly couldn’t handle the pressure. (‘Handle it? That’s my middle name!’ said Chandler from Friends – it may be over 25 years old, Stephen, but the old jokes are the best!). Welcome back, by the way, Deca. Lovely to have you back again. And you too, JimBob.
Exciting news from Yorkshire (God’s county). The Abbot, having financed stadium 11, has sold the club in order to concentrate on his loyal Angolan monks. I reckon he can’t do with all these expensive wages. I was a bit worried whether I’d be out of a job, but my interview with the new owners went really well this morning. Who would have thought that Roy Race, of Roy of the Rovers fame, would buy a top level club in England? When I met him, Roy asked whether I really had Melchester’s interests at heart. I took off my tracksuit top and showed him my Melchester Rovers football top (thank heavens for that ebay purchase, I thought).
“I want someone who’s totally dedicated to Melchester through and through!” said Roy. Well I turned my back on him, dropped my trousers and bent over. I don’t think Roy fully understood the situation until he saw the tattoo I have of him on my left buttock.
“Wow,” he said. “That’s dedication. You’ll do for me!”
Roy is expecting a top half finish this season. No pressure then. Good luck all!
