Promotion Playoffs (8)

il Numpty >> sunday june 26 - 06:32

I'm in the playoffs and I have a NT player that has not been withdrawn from the NT to allow him to play in the playoffs.

I have been in this position many times and this is the first occasion a player has not been withdrawn. So this seems to be a bug.

Is it just me or has it happened to other teams in the playoffs?

Is he available for today's playoff match? Logically he had to be called back today as I remember but it's first NT final tournament after April 12th. Currently it's less common that some NT players are in playoff clubs, mostly problem of smaller nations whose players might be in not top clubs.

No he's not available for today's match. The reason I waited until today is because I wasn't sure of the exact timing of when they got withdrawn.  But it's now certain that he can't play.

[I do know that loan players get their loans extended as part of the process when the playoff draw is made, just not sure about when NT players get withdrawn.]

Normally I have a few NT players so it would have been a bit clearer whether it was only 1 or more players involved. This time there's only player that should have been made available.

I'm just trying to establish whether this is a one off incident with one player or if it's fairly widespread.

I've just looked at the China tier 2 playoffs, as this is the strongest league and the teams are likely to have some NT players. The 4 teams involved all  currently have 1 or more NT players.

They've already had the first round of playoff on 24th and 25th June and it seems that all the NT players played in the the first match on 24th June but not in the second leg.

This suggests to me that these players never got withdrawn from their NT, and the reason they played in the first leg is because it was still a normal league day and NT players were available for selection.

The first GK from Colombia was withdrawn from the NT, specifically for the playoffs of his club, and his club plays also the first round of the playoffs:

If I remember correctly, he got also withdrawn the season before.

Thanks for the info. So it seems that some players got withdrawn but others didn't.

What we don't know, yet, is whether it's entirely random or if there's a common reason why some players haven't been withdrawn.

Players playing in continental cup or world cup are never getting withdrawn. If such players can able to play in club competition right now, its a bug. Players from other nations they are withdrawn for playoffs.
