I was interested in how many of the high level academies were in the game, so today I used an automated tool to collect the data. 

I thought I would share the results, so without further ado here is what I found.

Caveats

1. To save time the collection looked at the first 2000 clubs in the popularity rankings - popularity greater than 1.25 million - as clubs with lower popularity are unlikely to provide useful data. It's possible that there may be a few FA1s and YA1s below this.

Interesting to see that the total number of FAs and YAs are split almost 50/50. But what is fascinating is to see the make up of the combinations.

I've now updated it to show a more comprehensive list of combinations.

Is FA or YA preferred?

From the data we can attempt to answer the question whether FA or YA is preferred. For clubs with at least FA 1 or YA 1 the data shows the following: 

• FA level greater than YA - 479 clubs 
• FA level the same as YA - 451 clubs 
• FA level less than YA - 535 clubs

The balance between total FA levels and total YA levels is 310 in favour of the FA. This means that of the 1014 clubs where there is a difference, on average the FA level difference is greater at around 0.3 levels per club.   

To summarise this, on the one hand more managers build their YA levels higher than their FA, but when the FA is preferred then it is preferred more strongly.

How many clubs with Stadium 11?

Also from the data, there are currently 815 clubs with stadium 11, and 430 with stadium 10.

FA/YA don't win you intercontinental cups! The only solution in this game is: you make shit loads of money, you buy players with salaries you cant afford, you get your team in debt, but you win everything for at least 5-10seasons.... 🙄

Significant amount of clubs with high FA and much lower(often YC10 and YA1) had earlier higher YA, but had to reduce for saving costs. Austria alone has 3 or 4 such teams.

As one of the small 5FA/5YA club I am surviving by keeping down payroll and selling off high quality. So far this has not won trophies, except for U21. Garfman has made 5/5 work.
