Speed up transfers (13)
1) 24 hours for owner to decide whether accept an offer lower than what requested 2) too many hours (sometimes over 16) for admins to verify regularity of a transfer. What do you think about a maximum of 12 hours to accept an offer (after which will be considered rejected) and 6 hours to check the regularity of a transfer (after which will be considered correct) ?
1.) The frustration for me is that sometimes an underbid gets rejected after 24 hours because the manager hasn't logged in. Shortening this period to 12 hours would only make it worse.
My suggestion is that (a) the bidder is given the option to Cancel if they don't want to wait and (b) the default period is extended to 48 hours so that who wish to wait longer can do so.
Alternatively, a simpler change would be that the underbids are automatically approved after a 24 hour wait instead of being rejected. I think that would be fair and reasonable and perhaps a small reward for being kept waiting.
2.) This is a completely different issue. Automatic approvals after a few hours would only undermine the whole transfer system, so it's a big no from me. Admin are best placed to suggest alternative methods that might help them speed things up.
1 incomprehensible having money blocked for 24 hrs because of no answer, i think 12 hrs would be a reasonable time (it will be up to the management deciding if offer has then to be considered accepted or refused) 2 i realize admins have a real life and it's obviously more important than this game... but I think there must be a sort of time limit to avoid wasting plenty of hours. This time i had an offer accepted after 22 hrs (and in the meantime many good players were sold... ) and finally transfer was checked after 12 hrs. 1 and half day for buying a new player, too much
There are plenty of transfers that I wish were automated and an admin did not have to touch. They are obviously a) legitimate and b) entirely within the bounds of acceptable pricing.
If it were in our control to change the parameters of the transfer review system, we would. But that needs a developer to do this.
Admin check can be anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. Worst times are weekends and overnight (using GMT to describe 'night time').
I would agree with Numpties point with the exception of automatic acceptance of underbids.
I disagree with that. In many cases I have put a player on the market with a figure in mind and would simply have kept the player as opposed to buying a replacement. Imagine a situation takes you away from your computer for a length of time, you're penalised for a situation that may have been beyond your control.
Unless you have the option of setting a, hidden from bidders, minimum fee you will accept, in which case an underbid could automatically be accepted.
It's all moot as nothing is going to change with no game development.
Stephen's point is valid, and it's worth remembering that this situation arose largely because of those who were seeking to cheat the system. As usual a few spoil it for the many.
Yeah, that's a fair point.
On the other hand we also have to consider how many managers who are unable to respond in time would prefer to have the offer accepted. There will always be sellers who lose out whichever way the default is coded. But in my experience the majority of underbids do go through, so my suggestion would probably have more 'winners' than 'losers'.
That, of course, is only from the sellers perspective. But as a buyer I'm sure most of us would be very happy to get the offer accepted after waiting for 24 hours. So, on balance, in most cases this would be the preferred option.
Either way, as you say, it's all moot.
Easily fixed with a simple option button: Automatically accept underbids.
Or the option to set a fixed price, with underbids not accepted.
Which is, of course, just as moot. 🤣
