Choosing a team to start with (9)

Hi,

I used to play this game for a long time, until I suddenly lost all interest in this and other online games I played and didn't log in again a couple years back. Yesterday I suddenly remembered the game and logged in - since I didn't plan on stopping I even still had some VIP vouchers left. I wanted to join my old club which is now a bot team, but I could only join a random team. I looked through the help files, and it seems like I should be able to join any club that isn't advanced instead of the team I got assigned after leaving it, but I didn't see the option yesterday anywhere, and I swear I saw my old team still having popularity and facilities so I assumed it just wasn't possible. Today I see my old team now without popularity or facilities. Am I blind or did it just disappear last night? lol. Yesterday was by pure coincidence exactly a month after someone left my old team, I don't know if that had something to do with the last stuff disappearing only a couple hours after I first checked.

Now I wonder; if I leave the current team, will I be able to join whatever team? I couldn't find the option yesterday. Does the option only become available after I finished the tutorial for the first time? I don't want to leave this team only to find out I still can't join my old team and having to start over again with a new random team. I never switched clubs back when I was active so I have no experience with it.

Here's the Help article on moving clubs:

https://rockingsoccer.com/en/soccer/help/home/category-11/article-52

It provides most of the information that you will need. The regular club jumpers might be able clear up any of the small details.

Yes, that is what I read. But I couldn't do that yesterday, hence the question.

Okay, I think I can clear up the confusion.

You jogged my memory and I had to do some research. This is a quote from a post by Vincent in 2015:

  • Advanced teams are now reset after one month if no new manager picks this team.

Unfortunately not all the information in the Help gets updated when changes are made.

So it seems to me that you probably weren't seeing things yesterday and your old team did indeed get reset overnight. Although the reset presumably doesn't happen if the team is prevented from being chosen as a result of being in the top 50.

Alright, that clears up part of the confusion. Big coincidence that I randomly wanted to do this after 3.5 years and tried to do so 4 hours before I could (assuming the reset was at 3 o' clock?).

Still I didn't see the option looking at any team yesterday evening. According to the help file, my tutorial and starters bonus gets reset if I leave before getting stadium level 3, so I guess just to be safe I'll finish the tutorial once and then try again, just in case that is what gives me the option. And otherwise I might be able to force it by letting the game pick random teams for me until it gives me my old club 😂

I don't believe that you need to wait or finish the tutorial but, of course, that's your decision.

Update: Once I finished the tutorial (both parts, idk if that was necessary or if it's just the first part), I got a huge, unmissable box to apply for a job on top when looking at bot teams. I am certain that was not there yesterday evening when I tried this, with any bot team. I have succesfully joined the team I wanted to join. For anyone who is in the same position.

Funnily enough I could only comment again after I finished the first part of the tutorial, since it gets reset and you're not allowed to comment before completing it. Kinda weird but okay I guess.
