Unless your like me and trains longshots for 3 weeks+
fw specials will take to long for him now. Def or gk
i suggest making him def, defs allways needed.
full back - winger, man marker, (sprinter)
cb- man marker, (sprinter)
dcb- corner stopper , man marker

My needs are: left back, right back, defensive midfielder and forward.
Which position suits him better?

Modest seems quite suited to a DM as you can train lots of Duelling.
speedy full back, or DM duel winner . but mbe even poacher S, bcz you have nice FA to work on his main skill ..
other nice option- low salary backup GK , and later main keeper, with great speed, good ability when all specials trained, and still low salary .
Keeper gets high star value at the end
My thoughts were mainly on DM, because he would never be one of the 3 better players assuming that position. But i will think better between DM and left/right back.

that is not true, athletic DMs can reach very high star raiting . depends how you use xp .
