thursday october 10 - 19:44 I'm not sure if this will help much as I don't have any info on tall forwards.
Ar4ers is mostly correct in that scoring from corners is rare - at the top levels, which is where it matters most. However, scoring from corners is not rare at much lower levels. It is also not rare in U21 matches.
The reason for this difference is that the players who win the ball are almost always defenders, because of their high duelling. At low levels defenders can score from corners because they generally face weak keepers. At higher levels and against better teams the keepers will be much better but the defenders are no better at scoring because their xp is spent elsewhere. So they have less chance of scoring when they win the ball.
If, however, a forward wins the ball at a corner then he will have a reasonable chance of scoring at any level.
The key element to being able to score from a corner is that the player who wins the ball has a decent level of scoring compared to the keeper. So you either need defenders who can shoot or forwards who can win the ball. (Longshots don't count on corners.)
The question is, how much more chance will a forward have of winning the ball if he is tall? I don't have the answer to that, but in my view it's probably worth a shot. It can't do any harm having a tall forward and may well get you a few extra goals per season.
