Season 66 (95)

eng Monk >> thursday may 12 - 13:40

I'll kick off since we hosted the first match of the season (gave away a penalty in the first minute, saved it and then went on to win 4-0 against former mighty champions Liverpool).

Scammonden have strengthened in the close season and we are looking to improve on last season's 5th place. Canvey Island in 4th finished a long way ahead of us, but who knows? Hopefully we can have a good run in Europe and help to improve England league's ranking.

Good luck all.

Seaburn managed to scrape a 0-1 at Canvey Island in their first match of the season with the assistant setting the formation and choosing to play a 3-5-2 despite not having even a single player capable of playing the role effectively. Thankfully, having a world class GK actually paid off and he was duly awarded the MOTM award.

Hope everyone has had a good transfer window and best of luck to all

I managed to bring in 3 new first-team players (well, 2 immediate and 1 for next season) - I was hoping to do more but it's hard when most of the window is spent putting a player back on the transfer list because no-one is bidding and you are restricted by the minimum price.

I did however raise funds by selling most of my youth players, and replacing them with a bunch of crap.

Lema > Addo? That's what the Seaburn fans are asking as Lema continues his remarkable goal scoring feats.

I have no problem losing to Seaburn but would prefer it if they kept it to 3 or 4 goals - conceding 6 puts a strain on my team's fragile confidence.

Juve have jacked in Serie A and decided to move to England. Think it'll be a struggle for them though with a not great team and only a level 9 stadium. Still maybe they'll find a shady figure like Moggi to restore their fortunes...?

That's all 6 of us into the group stages. A few hairy moments but mission accomplished. Well done team England!

Rather a shock resignation of Norwich's manager though.

Maybe he just got fed up of yo-yo-ing between the 2 divisions. He's been up and down more times than Dragontao's lingerie.

We thought we had done the most difficult by leading 2/0 against Seaburn but Lema scored twice in the second half (2 goals in 4 minutes)...

Lema's on fire, your defence is terrified

Two wins out of two in the CL. And good news, I can't possibly meet Barcelona in the last 16. Bad news, they're in my group. Somehow I'm the number one seed, even though they are above me in the rankings. Not sure how that works...

In the champions league, the first pot contains the defending champion and the winners of the 7 strongest leagues. All the other pots are decided by club coefficient with the strongest teams in pot 2 and the weakest teams in pot 4.

==> England is 5th and Austria 11th

Thanks @blackwhite

Looks like the top of the table is ultra-competitive this season. Tough games all round. Hopefully we can take this competitiveness into the CL/EL games and give our coefficient a boost.

Yes you have to score points into the CL/EL...

Yesterday my best striker was injured in the league at 4.48 p.m. and therefore could not play in the Champions League 45 minutes later (5.31 p.m.)

With him, I think I could have brought back points and as I don't really have any substitutes, we lost this important match.

Well don't count on me for any coefficient points - nasty group and the match I needed to win at home to the weakest team I had 3 injuries for, so it didn't go well!

It'll be a challenge to get 3rd...
