Winger defenders and midfielders must have intelligent.
Winger defenders must have versatile, dribbler, shielding.
Midfielders must have higher tactics. Maybe they don't need dribbler because they just rush into the opposition defense.

Current season: 30th
1. The Early Stages.
On March 15th, 2015, early in the morning, while randomly browsing the web, I came across Rocking soccer. I signed up and took a team, by my choice a "random strong" team with young players. It's funny, because that day I completed several buildings. Ah, the good old days when you could upgrade a building in several hours. :D
I played my first games at end of season 15 in division 4.2 of the US. I distinctly remember that, in the last game of the season, my team back from a 4-0 deficit from a team that was then called "Kansas City." That comeback was one of the reasons I stayed on this game, believe it or not. :D
I followed up that season by dominating division 4.2. I had a measly 101 points and 108 goals, largely due to my purchase of my first gold-star player, Marc Ashman. You can you longer see his pretty face, but I remember him very well. I paid 700k for him, perhaps a little overboard, but he was a great player for my club.
I then began my progression through the lower divisions. I spend way too long in division 3.2. I spent 4 seasons there. Season 19 was my most disappointing season, when I averaged exactly 3 goals a game and still managed to come second with 92 points – just one point behind the red-hot Omaha Bulls. After losing in the playoffs, I finally managed to break free with automatic promotion and my all-time best 102 points. In season 21, I reached division 2.
2. The Battle for Division 1 Begins.
Division 2 was my first real competition. All human managers, no bot teams. Tactical skill was of real importance now. I managed to come 8th place, just 7 points out of a playoff spot. Not disappointing.
Not only did I make it to division 2 that season, but I also did well in tournaments. I had my biggest victory then as a manager – I defeated my first league 1 team ever, the Rocky Mountain Huskies, in a cup shootout. It was a very entertaining game, with the Huskies getting two last-minutes goals, one in the 90th minute, and the second just before the shootout. Victory was sweet. Unfortunately I got knocked out in the quarter final 3-0.
Around this time, I did something that has had a long lasting impact on my club. I wanted to take control of this club, which was then a bot team.
http://rockingsoccer.com/en/soccer/info/team-4391
As you can see, it is one of the best clubs in the game. At the time, it had several future star players, one of which was 6+ talent. I couldn't make up my mind about whether switching clubs was a good decision. In the end, I took my old club back, but I'd already lost a crucial stadium upgrade that was in progress (20 million down the drain) and a level on all other facilities, as well as money and popularity. Safe to say I'd be more advanced than I am now if I hadn't made that move. Garfman, the manager of the club I had briefly taken, was upset I left because he knew I wasn't a jumper that would stay there for a month and then leave, deteriorating the club further. Sorry, Garf :-(
Another season went by as I came in 8th place again, only 1 point better than last season. The cup was uneventful. In Season 23, I finally gained a playoff spot - this time 10 points better than last season. In the playoffs, I was knocked out after a 0-0 away draw and a 2-2 home draw against my old friend, Robin.
Season 24 was probably the most eventful season I've ever had on this game. I won division 2 in a season-long battle that never ended until the last moment – literally. It all came down to the very last day of the season. The team battling me for the title, Independence SC (or as they were known then – Sporting Scranton) had a chance to win the title. They were one point ahead of me heading into the last day. After they lost their last game, it was on me to win my last game and steal the title. After a 3-1 away win, I secured the Division 2 title. I was heading to the promiseland, Division 1 of the US!
Ending matches in that season: http://rockingsoccer.com/en/soccer/league-us.24/level-2/group-1/results/38
Not only that, but I had my biggest run in any tournament when I reached the Cup Final. Against the odds, I defeated not one, not two, but THREE division 1 teams, two of which were in international competition (the other being the Rocky Mountain Huskies). Unfortunately, I got beaten 2-0 against what might be the league-winning team this year – Fieras FC. At least it was only a 2-0 defeat, nothing particularly humiliating.
http://rockingsoccer.com/en/soccer/tournament-19702/round-8
To wrap up the season, I purchased two of what would be my most successful players – Gilberto Furchi and Jerome Parenthai. Parenthai's leaving this season (beginning of season 33). He's scored a lot of goals for us, and played quite a few matches. We'll miss you, Jerome.
3. Reaching the Spotlight.
Now fast-forward three seasons of pure boredom, both in the league and the cup. First, 37 points... Just avoiding relegation... Then 39 points... Just avoiding relegation... Then 37 points. This time I didn't avoid it. I was beaten fair and square by Montgomery, a team that took the polar opposite approach of mine, developing entirely home-grown youth, whereas I'd purchased my star players. To be honest I didn't want another season in division 1, even with the extra money and popularity.
––––––––––––––––––––––––
8/31/2017, 13:22pm: our best all-time forward, Jerome Parenthai, has joined another club.
––––––––––––––––––––––––
9/2/2017: our office upgrades and we have placed a new staff member into our YC. Our all-time most played goalkeeper, Guo-ning Hark, has retired and is now a staff member.
4. A Predicament/The Rebuild
12/9/2017 entry
So, it looks like my long-term plans have been foiled.
In Season 32, I started my YC10 in anticipation for my supertalent. I got one, and sold my first team in order to start a rebuild, since my team was obviously going nowhere in the first division. I picked up some nice players and it was looking just fine, until Vincent released this new facilities update.
This has pushed me back miles from top teams. Rebuilding meant going down several divisions, and that means less money. Consequently, building higher levels of Youth Academy and Football Academy is impossible. My team doesn't come close to having the financial stability required for these buildings. So, while my team festers in lower divisions, top teams are getting ready to bring the first Youth Academies and Football Academies to Rocking Soccer. Soon, they will be pumping out their new golden boys and the market will be theirs once again. My youths will be useless. Maybe the occasional intelligent or selfish guy will fetch a decent price, but soon YC10 players will be rendered obsolete.
So, even after all this progress, it looks like I will have to delay my entrance back to the top division for another year or so. Thinking long-term, I don't see my current strategy helping me at all. By the time my players reach their peak, teams will have completed YC12-13 and TC12-13 and my players won't be above average anymore, meaning I will have to do the same thing all over again.
So whether or not I choose to do this now, I know I will have to do it later. The only difference between the two is, if I do it later, I will have put myself several steps back if I wait longer, and I will be in the same place I was several seasons ago (or worse).
So, I will likely be selling my supertalent next season, once I have stocked him up with as many attractive attributes as possible to boost his price... I will keep some of the players I have currently, but that's only to be a mainstay in division 2 while I build my YC 11 (that's the best I can do for now, otherwise I will go broke). Maybe, by the time it finishes, teams will have reached a high enough popularity for me to upgrade my stadium twice – a 70,000 capacity stadium is the smallest viable stadium to support a YC12.
There are many uncertainties about this approach. Sometimes I wonder whether or not keeping a YC10 and TC10 is worth it. Who knows; maybe this will allow me to accumulate a lot of resources and have more buying power in the market.
Initial buliding plan through July 21st:
1. Office upgrade – will end 26th December
2. Stadium upgrade (most important) – will end February 6th
3. YC11 upgrade – April 27th
4. YC12 upgrade – July 21st
––––––––––––––––––––––––
1/2/2018 — our most fielded player, Gregory Simonds, has retired and now fills the position of Construction Master. Stadium 8, a long-awaited stadium upgrade, has now begun. Simonds unfortunately only has a talent of 5, and will have to be replaced by someone else. I will probably place him in Catering once I can remove him and have hired someone better to fill his spot. Terras continues his Freestyler training and will be sold this next window (we are currently in one, but do not plan to sell Terras as his training will not complete in time).
––––––––––––––––––––––––
1/8/2018 — I am now debating whether or not to upgrade my TC or my YC first. If I upgrade my YC first, my first level 11 youths, and possibly my next supertalent, could have TC10 training. However, if I upgrade my TC first and then my YC, my new youths will have a better TC to draw from. I have spent quite a bit of time thinking about this, and I am leaning towards upgrading my TC first. The maintenance costs are lower, but the bulding cost is much higher, 2.75 times as high. This will take a huge bite out of my finances, although I am planning to sell Terras for quite a bit this upcoming transfer window. The plan is, come July, I will have a brand new shiny supertalent that will be trained in a very good TC11.
Further thoughts: I am taking a certain risk by turning down Terras for a new supertalent. Terras is not world-class by any means, but he is average in terms of talent and he has no bad traits. Many managers suffer the misfortune of pulling a player with unnaturally low talent, or pulling a horrible trait, like fragile, roaming, downhearted, etc. Yes, there are quite a few freaks of human nature out there – players with 7+ talent, 7+ power, speed, etc, and I did get lucky enough to pull one of these. But I did get lucky enough not to pull an abnormally bad player. I might be pushing my luck a little bit here, since the future of my club will, in large part, depend on what kind of supertalent I pull. The amount of supertalents in the game is continually increasing as time goes by. Therefore, to be successful at this game, I need to stay ahead of the curve; so maybe, in a sense, I must sell Terras and wait for my next supertalent. And while the chances of pulling an abnormally bad player are low, the consequences are very bad; it's like betting all your life savings on a bet you're 80% likely to win. In most cases, you double your savings; but on the offchance that you lose, you're financially screwed. This is surprisingly similar to my situation, since a manager's supertalent is his ticket to success, his golden egg, if you will. A club's future revolves around your supertalents. Yes, your stadium and fanshop provide a steady increase in popularity and money, but a supertalent changes your fortunes in the blink of an eye. If it's a great supertalent, you can sell it for what 10 seasons' worth of sellout matches with a 50k capacity stadium. If you choose not to sell, he's a game changer for your club; he'll be a goal machine, or an assist machine, or a wall in goal. Either way, a club's future hinges upon the quality of your annual supertalent. If you don't get any good ones, chances are, you won't be successful in the game.

Analysis: there is no point in analyzing the 1-facility upgrades, since we are likely going to make another upgrade right after. Going from the information we have in the 2-facility upgrades, TC11 and YC11 is the obviously the best option. The XP return is the second-highest of all the options, and it's affordable. Having a TC12 has the highest XP return of all of them, but the advantage is not great; only 19k XP in 16 seasons, with is barely over 1k per season. The difference is negligible. Having a TC11 and a YC11 is the best combination of affordability and XP return.
The final choice is which building I upgrade first. Given my lack of financial stability, this is also an important decision. The TC is far more expensive – almost 3 times as expensive, which might help me in the upcoming transfer window if I don't upgrade it. The YC is less expensive but more taxing with the daily expenses. There is also the prospect of being able to sell my YC11 youths for high prices before I go to build my TC11, which is good because I get some extra money. So, it looks like my original plan will work and I will for the YC first. Additional XP is not very important to me at the moment; I am selling Terras the next window. Also, the XP loss from going with the YC first and the TC second is negligible; only 5k XP for a 4.95 talent player. So, the YC it is.

1/24/18. Thoughts on Season 35. All in all, a good season. Not a very good start, but my team pulled it back in the second half of the season, really pulling through offensively & defensively. Decent position in the table. My big sale is coming up. I'm getting ready to list Terras for $538,000,000. Let's hope for a buyer.
––––––––––––––––––––––––
1/26/18. I hate it, but I’ve sold Terras. We fetched a decent price tag of 400 million... Now we wait for July to come. Bestibyn IF was the lucky recipient of our gem. Let’s hope he makes it to the US NT and has a good long career. I sold him for less than I wanted because it seems like not many people are willing buyers at the moment. In a couple seasons, 400 million for someone like Terra’s will never happen. Let’s consider ourselves lucky and continue with the rebuild.
––––––––––––––––––––––––
4/23/18. It’s been almost 3 full months and nearly 2 seasons since I updated my log, and I figure now’s the time to make one. There are many things to talk about.
First and foremost, the most important thing about my club: the rebuild. It’s going very smoothly. I have a vision for the development of my team, and this includes loading them up with as many helpful attributes as possible. In several seasons, my wingbacks should have winger, sprinter, man marker, and correct; my two older midfielders, Brieva and Farrier, should have long shots, dribbler, and shielding (Jong will be the tactics guy); and my selfish trio, Pugh, Sadooghi, and Thabet, will have poacher, long shots, and sharpshooter. By the time these attributes are finished, my players will be at their peak and I will have 2-3 seasons to watch them flourish in league 1.
Team: https://ibb.co/dadm8c
Second, the transfer window. I’ve been fairly active there. I’ve bought another cheap defender or two (both intelligent players). I’ve sold some youth products to make room for future ones, but haven’t sold any of my top 11. I picked up an absolute bargain of a goalkeeper, Jacques D’Evreaux. He’s a determined goalkeeper and valued at red stars at the age of 27. He’s been a rock in goal for me and is high on the clean sheets rankings. However, the star of the show is Nicola Ivanisevic. He’s a 6+ talent intelligent midfielder – and I got him for only $165 million. He’s a diamond in the rough, and he betters my club whatever I choose to do with him – he’ll be a quality player in several seasons, and he’ll make me a huge profit if I decide to sell him.
Ivanisevic: https://ibb.co/mtneTc
Third, facilities. I just finished my YC11 yesterday! Good news – the next player interval hasn’t started yet, so my next player will be a true YC11 product. After one final consideration, I spent $221 million on my TC upgrade this morning. The two-facility plan is going just as foreseen. After these first few YC11 players... then comes our supertalent baby. Let’s hope for an awesome one. I plan on making the double-staff switch to my YC on May 23rd. By then, I’ll have done all I can to get as good a supertalent as possible. The rest is in the hands of the RS gods.
Facilities: https://ibb.co/cXrZuH
Fourth, competitions. Ah, the ease with which a squad improves when all the players are U21. Over the past several seasons, my team has gone nowhere but up. Last season, I just made it to a playoff spot and got promptly eliminated by a league rival. This season, I’m not that far from the no.1 spot. I doubt I’ll get there, but eventually I will (with a team improving this quickly). In the cup, I managed to reach the quarterfinal and put up a decent performance against the Terriers. I even had the lead for a while, and my goalie saved not one, but two penalties (!!!). We almost made it to a shootout but they scored another goal in OT... but no matter. I’m in the semi-final of the U21 cup, and I’m confident I can win it all. Sidney is out, the Terriers are out, and the Riverhounds are out. There are other good U21 sides, but if the Hounds are out, anything is possible. A trophy would look really nice in our museum. May God have mercy on the team that I’m facing next (sarcasm intended).

If we win this trophy, we’ll celebrate by restoring our team’s former name — the Detroit Blazers. A post will come after the end of this season, followed by actually updating the stats above.

5/28/18. Well, I promised another entry after the season was over. I am delivering on that promise. (I didn't say when after the season was over that I'd post :D).
So, we won the trophy. We won the trophy, and our team is permanently etched in US trophy history. What's even better about that day is that our good friend Robin also won his first trophy, the Cup. He beat FC Arsenal in the final. I can say without a doubt that was the best day of our careers. Having our first trophies coincide like that was awesome.
https://rockingsoccer.com/en/soccer/tournament-34591/history (season 37 :O)
https://rockingsoccer.com/en/soccer/tournament-33273 (the victory)
Our seat in the U21 Champions didn't last long; we lost in our first game. We had the lead for a bit, then we collapsed late in the game to fall 4-2. The same team that beat us ended up beating our rival in the U21 final, Baltimore FC.
https://rockingsoccer.com/en/soccer/tournament-33269/round-1 (U21 Champs loss to Cultural Leonesa)
Jacques D'Evreaux is now our leading player in terms of clean sheets. Maybe one of our other goalies has had more, but his stats are now erased from team history, unfortunately. Guo-ning Hark, that's the guy. Brieva has yet to pass Bouderbala, and Sadooghi has quite a ways before he passes Parenthai. It'll be some moment when they do.
I know that my current squad will stack up quite a number of matches with my team. Simonds is our most capped player at 500+ matches, but since I fielded my players for league matches the whole season starting at age 17, they'll all surpass the 500 match mark.
In other news, I've made the switch to two YC staff members and I've gotten 2 YC11 players. Well, one, if you don't count my horrible first one. And yes, no good attributes as yet (but no bad ones either...) Just waiting for July now. My TC finishes upgrading in 35 days. Which raises the question... what should I upgrade next? My HC, to avoid more injuries? My stadium, in preparation for a possible promotion? Should I patch up some of my other premature facilities, like the Catering and Fanshop? Whatever I do, I need to spend my money wisely and resist the temptation to splurge in the transfer market. I will not sell my next supertalent like I had to do with Terras.
One thing is for sure: promoting will be hard. John Deatrick's old team (now FC Otradnoe) is going to give me a hard time. His facilities and popularity have gone to shit due to jumpers joining the team and leaving 5 days and/or minutes later (yes, Harry9k was one of them). Regardless, their players are good (a previous manager spend 200 million+ on good midfielders/defenders). They're looking damn near unbeatable. I'm hoping my league-best offense can carry my team to the no.1 spot.
My next entry will probably be after the season is over. Most likely, it'll be a short one, since I don't anticipate any major events happening until then (unless I win the U21 cup again. It might happen. I am facing the same two opponents in my first two games as I did in final two games of the previous U21 cup – randomness)
And oh yeah. I tried to get Furchi and Parenthai back to the club to hold positions as staff members, and failed for both, even though I offered the highest price for both of them and they're useless players for their clubs now. We did manage to get Wu-shiun Gang though (one of our famous defenders). He was listed in the market, so it wasn't that hard to snatch him up. He has decent talent for a staff member.
9/20/18. Sadooghi ties Parenthai for most goals scored for our club.
9/21/18. Brieva passes Bouderbala as our all-time assister.
11/25/18. Sadooghi passes Parenthai as our most capped player, playing 365 matches. (Well, really, he's tied, but it shows him over Parenthai.)
2/2/19. Since the last log, we've won the U21 cup again (fairly comfortable road to the final like the first win), and had fairly mediocre performances in the league. Haven't been able to reach international competition. Last season, I was the most unenthusiastic I've ever been. I forgot to set lineups, suffered numerous injuries (including one to my goalkeeper again), and it cost me significant points and made me drop in the standings.
So, this season, I decided I'd had enough. My warchest of over $800 million has been depleted and shrunk down to just under $70 million. I spent it on a world-class goalkeeper (costing me a record $250 million), and two midfielders – including the signing of Pasquele Vincenti, the same midfielder that caused my team so much grief in the league and the cup.
Lastly, I spent over $400 million on a stadium upgrade. I've been going back and forth over this upgrade for the past several weeks, contemplating whether or not it will be worth it. By the time it finishes, I will be nearing the end of the team cycle, which means I'll be relegated again. This is how I'm approaching the game now – gearing up for a stay in league 1, doing the best I can for several seasons, then selling my entire squad once they've outlived their usefulness, and then rebuilding for my promotion back up. If I tried to stay afloat in division 1, I would never have any money for facilties. Players nowadays are way too expensive.
So what prompted me to start the upgrade? Several things; first, I anticipate I will be in division 1 for 4 more seasons at least, so I will get at least 2 seasons out of my new stadium. I'm getting 170k popularity per season now, so my attendance will be over 100k per game by the time the upgrade finishes. This will jack my seasonal income by quite a bit and quicken my ability to catch up with the top clubs.
Second, I'm now triple VIP. This means I can advertise my matches. This gets me first-time buyers (my first advertised match sold out in a matter of seconds). These buyers get me a lot of fanclub members. I might even get 200k+ popularity this season if I manage to get first-time buyers for all my matches.
This newly found VIP status gives us a host of other conveniences, most notably the ability to loan out up to 10 players. I should've been only double VIP, since 6 loaned players is more than enough. It's ok though, the bonus on my sponsor money is more than welcome :D
Lastly, I thought I'd comment on our season opener against Sidney Town FC. Everything went as planned; we won 2-0. They tried to beat our keeper, to no avail – he made countless saves. Vincenti got an assist in his first game along with Brieva. Antolinez was good and had some shots; his passing accuracy was also good. We only had 1 less shot than Sidney. If we keep up appearances, we're in the top 8 for sure. Sidney is a Champions League team and if we can perform like this against them, we can beat anybody.
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE:
- Develop my useless youths to over 30 million market value to be sold to the bank for ~24 million. 10 of these is a sizeable $240 million in the bank.
- Make international competition at least 2 times and make some noise on the big stages.
- Win the league with this squad (my best ever) if possible. Will be tough, but once I train some more blocking on my defense, it might be doable. It won't happen this season. Next season maybe.
- Sell my squad once they're all >30, relegate to the lower leagues and rebuild.
- Re-stock on staff members.
- Facilities: upgrade my stadium to level 11. Downgrade the YC to level 10 and get TC 14 minimum. 4 players per season with a talent equivalent of ~7 is very sustainable, and it only takes 3 seasons to attain a full squad. I will be able to compete with the top teams with no end in sight.
Why this unconventional strategy, you may ask? I'm convinced the YC is a waste. Upgrading it gets you talented youths, yes, but they become few and far between. The top teams are maxing out their facilities getting TC14 & YC13, but they end up only getting 2 players per season. This isn't sustainable. They won't have any money to purchase other players for their main squad.
2/20/19. Thabet ties Parenthai for goals scored in our club (214).
4/28/19. Sadooghi plays his 500th match for our club. Polder is close behind him. Farrier ties Bouderbala for 173 club assists.
5. End of an Era
5/4/19
We are nearing the end of Season 44. What started on August 14th, 2017, with the purchase of Sjon Polder, is coming to a close. It was a 12-season long project that took almost 2 years. Over the course of this endeavor, we've won 2 U21 Youth Cups and 1 Cup. We reached the quarter-final of the NAL and came close to winning the Super Cup. This year, we reached the finals of the Cup again but got drubbed by the Hounds in a 4-1 defeat. Overall, I'd say this team has been our best by far and has made some memorable club history.

It was pretty cool seeing that little bronze cup next to my name in the standings. I screenshotted it for the memories.

I'll remark on my massive spending in the Season 42 transfer window. I spent almost 370 million on veteran players. While this goes against all of my principles and this club's strategy over the years, it was entirely worth it. The team that I'd built over 12 seasons wasn't working. After finishing 12th with 47 points and looking at another series of boring seasons, I decided that I'd had enough. I wanted all this development to be worth something; I wanted to be a serious competitor. I was losing interest at this point. So, I splurged and bought Cofino, an elite keeper, as well as Antolinez and Vincenti. Vincenti had tormented my team in earlier seasons under Jack, the manager of LOBO. It was a personal victory to have him on my team, wreaking havoc and not be on the receiving side of his destruction. As I said, all this spending was worth it, as it gave me my biggest achievement as an RS manager – the Cup. With victories against Montgomery, LOBO, the Hounds, and Sidney Town, this was no fluke; we actually had a strong team. To top it off, we finished third in the league with our record number of points in league 1 – 89.
In addition to garnering trophies, this rebuild has allowed us to strengthen our facilities and boost our popularity. We just completed our 120k-seat stadium and are nearing 3 million popularity, having added over 200k fans to our base this season. Our office is upgrading to make room for a staff member in the stadium.
This transfer season will mark the end of an era for the Blazers and the beginning of a new one. Yes, this means we will likely shatter records for the worst d1 team next season, and we will languish in the lower levels for some time to come. But the reality is, other teams are much stronger facility-wise and, in order to catch up with them, we must make financial strides. Retaining our players until they retire would get us a couple more seasons in d1, but they would be boring with our rapidly declining and aging squad; short cup runs and bang-on average seasons would be all we had to look forward to. We would receive full stadium attendance most games, but the extra revenue falls short to what I would get if I just sold my entire squad. This also lowers wages, so it would be a lot less wage money each season; this adds up over time.
Besides, it would just delay the inevitable – we can't purchase replacements to stay afloat in d1, because that would just exhaust all the extra revenue that was our excuse for staying up in the first place. One thing we don't have as a financially underdeveloped team is long-term stability. To achieve that, we need a better training complex to create better youth prospects. To get a better training complex, we need massive amounts of money to build and maintain it. To get those massive amounts of money, we need a larger stadium, which requires more popularity and over a billion dollars. I'll take a big step towards that by selling my squad for a reasonable price. And besides, rebuilding is just fun.
It's fitting. The players that I purchased over 10 seasons ago will have done all they can for this club. They helped us line our museum with silverware. They earned their place in team history with 400, sometimes 500+ total matches played for us. They smashed previous records set by Bouderbala, Parenthai, and other club legends. And, as their last contribution to our franchise, they will fill our bank with much-needed finances.
In the next couple years, the next step is to win the NAL and hopefully the league. I want to be the first team to overtake the Hounds as the league champion. Ending the Hounds' dynasty would be our best achievement. Their current team is misleading, despite how good they are. They have a massive youth academy and training complex, which means their future team will be even more of a monster than the one they have now. This is why we have to think long-term; if we don't utilize our resources efficiently now, it will cost us in the long run.
For memories, I screenshotted my team. It's cool to compare my squad from 12 seasons ago to what it has become.

6. Dawn of a Dynasty.
5/21/2019
The title is probably misleading, since I won't be a dynasty, but it's a cool title, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway, transfer window has come and gone. I've sold almost all of my former team and bought 8 new elite prospects. With all this spent money, it's tempting to take this team to the next level by building a higher TC. Of course, I will downgrade my YC if I choose to do this. If I don't, the maintenance costs will be too damn high!
Now that I've committed to this rebuild, I'm going to give it 100%, but I might not do another after these players have reached their full potential. After I've gone back up to league 1 and challenged for a few seasons, I'll focus on gathering the funds for a higher stadium. Other managers say it's a trap to build higher TC & YC before you have Stadium 11, so I'll heed this warning. I'll only get a FA2 and that's it.
8/16/2019
It's been a couple months since I updated. So, I expected to have been relegated several seasons ago, but by some miracle, I've avoided relegation two seasons in a row now. Last season it was really close, but this season, my team has taken a step forward and stayed well clear of the bottom spots. With several games to go, any fear of being relegated can be dismissed.
How is the rebuild going? It's going ok. I spent over 100 mill on a 7-ish talented defender. His owner really neglected him for several seasons, really diminishing his value. I guess that's why I was able to buy him. I wish he had spent the wasted XP, but some managers are idiots. I hope he pans out and solidifies the back line for me.
I have paid more attention to defense than in previous squads/rebuilds. I always end up with a strong offense but a weak defense/goalkeeper, so I decided to change that this time around. I have 5 high-talented defenders, including my most recent supertalent. All my future designated midfielders and forwards are also highly talented, but I want my back line to be extremely solid and able to hold up against strong teams. That being said, I have a lot of special attributes lined up for everyone. It will be several seasons before everyone has the skills I want them to have.
That being said, it seems like the big teams have spent all their wealth creating a huge FA/YA. Some are gong overboard in my opinion, with a FA5/YA5 and stuff like that. I don't know if that's sustainable, and I have a feeling they won't be able to have those facilities much longer. Whether they end up downgrading a couple levels in the future, they are still going to have OP players. Even with my FA2 and 6 talent players, I wont be able to compete in big international competitions like I want to. It seems like the only approach is to wait for my current line of youth to outlive their usefulness, turn them into staff members, and then build a warchest for the future. I don't know if I'll even be able to catch up to the big teams before the developers inevitably shut this game down or everyone loses interest in it and leaves.
Back to the grind now.

Transfer window going well in terms of selling, but not buying. Menetnashite Amouzique has tied Sadooghi in all-time matches played for our club, 511. He will surpass him tomorrow. I'm probably going to retire Amouzique this season while he's still 30 – to be a staff member. All my old players are gonna become staff this season or next, to replace my other retiring members.
10/11/2019
Retired Awdia Hazan. Will retire Schubert and Amouzique soon. Hazan is a shit staff member, most predictably.
10/30/2019
Retired Schubert. He is another shit staff member. Hoping Amouzique can be a good one. I really don't want to have to pay money for more staff members.
11/1/2019
Quick little update. As you can tell, I'm gradually retiring all my old players as staff members. Since all my other staff are quickly approaching retirement age, I need new staff members far more than I need a few small checks. So far, I haven't had much success with my new staff – none of them are good in the TC and they all have poor talent.
As for my rebuild, it's going ok. My defenders aren't as good as I'd hoped, but they're still pretty good. I bought the final piece of my defensive puzzle with a $100 million buy on Martin Bracegirdle. Very solid all-round – over 5 power, 5.9 talent, Intelligent, the right age, and other special attributes that I don't have to train because the previous owner already trained them! I'm surprised no one else bid for him. Whatever, he's on my team now.
My hopes are to win the U21 cup in the next couple seasons. If I don't, Montoro, Quevedo and Karamoko won't be able to help me in the tournament again. I'll have to buy another U21 keeper, which I don't really want to do. However, if I have to, I probably will.
Once Quevedo and Karamoko are out of the running, my younger defensemen and midfield will give me another chance. Looking at the best U21 squads in the US, this is probably what's going to happen.
The Riverhounds and Sidney Town have insane U21 players. Unless they play each other in the next rounds, I'll have to beat both of them in the future, which isn't likely. I'm going to need some luck to pull this off.
As for winning the cup in the future, ... lol. The Riverhounds' and Sidney's youth development is beyond anything I can compete with.
Thinking long-term, I'm probably not going to do another rebuild after this. Once my players have outlived their usefullness, I'll sell them, get a squad full of bad, low-wage players, and languish in the lower divisions while I double-staff my Museum and level it up as much as I can. This is the only hope of catching up. The Museum is the endgame. The first to get an insanely high level on this building and capitalize on it will be the new RS superpower.
11/22/2019
Just lost to the Hounds in the U21 cup final. Didn't expect to get this far this soon, but it was still disappointing to lose. My offense didn't do great. All the Hounds had in goal was a 15-year old keeper and the game plan was to muster as many shots on the keeper as we could. The Hounds' defense was too powerful though.
I've finally finished drafting a plan of the special attributes I want to train on my prospects. It's gonna be a lot and it will take close to 4 seasons to complete, but if I wanna see this through, I have to commit.
My plan focuses on training as many special attributes on my players as possible, including ones many managers don't think of using. I'm looking forward to see how this strategy works. Maybe I'll be able to use different formations with this new versatility! Who knows.
Oh yeah, one final thing. I haven't retired Amouzique yet. Weighing the benefits of gaining another staff member against the benefits of having him in the lineup, I found it more advantageous to keep him in the lineup. His staff talent wasn't going to decrease from age 31 to 32, after asking on the forums. If I keep him in the lineup, my strongest defender continues to play for me, and he gains more XP towards staff skills. As an added bonus, he'll be the first player to play 600 matches for my club. Big milestone.

The most goals a forward has ever scored for me in a single season was 42 in League 2 from Jerome Parenthai:
https://rockingsoccer.com/en/soccer/league-us.28/level-2/group-1/statistics
This season, it looks like Cristian Lomelin is going to shatter that record; he has 39 goals with 7 games to go. History is being made here, ladies and gents. Club history, at least.
11/27/19
Cristian Lomelin broke the record for number of goals in a season for our club. With 2 goals against Sweetwater, he now has 44 goals in the season (which isn't even over yet). Parenthai had 42 in Div 2.
https://rockingsoccer.com/en/soccer/info/player-1887963/employment
48 goals in season 48. Couldn't be more fitting. I know it says 53, but that includes all 5 of Lomelin's playoff goals. Disregard those.
12/19/19
Menetnashite Amouzique retires after 601 matches played for our club. He's finally half-decent. 5* on the training complex and 6* talent. Finally, a good staff member.
