Not a great start for the old Pennies. A few key players from an already not-that-great team have either retired or are currently aging out of effectiveness. Replacements from the transfer market weren't in the cards due to the cost of a stadium upgrade. I think a relegation battle may be the story of the season.

This season has been pretty disappointing so far.  I spent nearly a billion to improve my team at every position, and I still have a losing record.

Some of it is probably bad luck.  I've only given up more than 1 goal in 2 games, one of which was a 0-2 loss against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds that was pretty much expected.  On the other hand, I've only scored more than 2 goals in 4/10 games despite having a fairly decent offense including the elite forward with ~7 scoring I just picked up.

To some extent, I've had a difficult schedule up to this point, already playing most of the top teams like the Pittsburgh Riverhounds/Sidney Town FC/FC Arsenal.  It does seem that I've at least been competitive in the majority of these losses.  Two of them also came in games where I got a red card.

I'm sure it'll get better over the course of the season.  Even if it doesn't, I have a solid core that's just now approaching their prime, and my roster has gotten a lot younger, so I'll have chances for improved performance in the coming seasons.

There's a lot of luck involved, Ulysses.  Just try to weather the run of bad luck and keep building.  I like to try to wrinkle my strategy every now and then, but not wildly so.

Got my first assist from my versatile fullback in meaningful competition.  It's nice to see that these abilities aren't wastes of time.  Whether or not it's better than doing something else, well...that remains to be seen.  My team's in 4th place for now, but I suspect a run of bad games will be coming soon.  I will always prefer accumulating points at the beginning of the season, though.

Unfortunately I blew it in the North American League.  Luckily, forgetting to set my lineup didn't seem to matter, the team still got chances with 4-3-3, just couldn't score.  I hate having the home game second, because you know you have to win by more goals or lose on the away goal rule, and there's no match setting for that.

I honestly haven't been taking in-game strategy as seriously as I used to.  Part of it is that a lot of the strategic things I did in the past no longer work due to various updates to the engine.

If Ulysses has had bad luck, I have really had good fortune. After selling several players, going with young players in 7 starting positions, I didnt expect to be undefeated at this point in the season. I did not think my defense would be this good.

I have had many close matches. I cant imagine that I will continue to win these 1 goal games.

Good game yesterday cdowne.  I thought I had a chance to win but my strategy didn't work out.

Peter, it may be difficult but my team just made it to the semi-final of the U21 champions cup and you beat me.

Hey, Peter. There's nothing to be worried about. Just check my U21 goalkeeper, he's only 15. Any shots that on target should make a goal.

bog losses for me recently to the Riverhounds.  11-1 total in our last two matches.  yikes.

I'm pretty sure I'll need to win out to stay on top.
