Not sure how I feel about the new engine. So far I am 1-1. I lost when I was favored and I beat the better team (at home to be fair).
I lost game 1 to a penalty which was the only shot I gave up. I nearly lost to the polar bears thanks to an own goal.
Currently 1-1 but the new engine provides way less good shot opportinities. It's going to be an interesting season.

I am there with you, John. I tied Polar Bears 0-0 and had a 3-0 win over Loyola. I'm obviously psyched about the 0-0 tie, but to be fair many of their players were tired after and overtime game in the club World Cup. After watching a couple of games I have a few theories about the new match engine, but some things still feel a bit random.
If the current standings are any indication, I would say things either got significantly more random, or old strategies are no longer valid.
It seems I lost in the semi-finals. Realistically, I didn't have much of a chance, and giving one of the best teams in the world home advantage was too much. I was hoping to play the other team due to the home advantage. In any case, it was fun having the opportunity to compete in the Club World Cup at least once.
It's probably too small a sample size at this point, though I believe games were supposed to be closer.

My team was also tired from the Super Cup and Club World Cup for both games this season, though I only had about a 50% against Fieras FC based on scouting reports.
I did notice in my club world cup game that players were passing a bit more rather than simply passing it up to the forwards for one-timers, which is at least a little more realistic. Also, it seems that my midfielder with high passing is getting the ball more than my midfielder with ~4.6 passing and playmaking (now a .5 passing bonus), and he usually tended to pass across the field for some reason.

I was very fortunate to get a win vs you JD. One shot on goal happened to be a penalty that was the only goal of the match. My other game I only got two shots off and lost 3-1 (that goal was also off of a penalty). I guess I need to change up my strategy.
Huge home draw for my team today as we managed to score on one of two shots. Most of the time after the game tying goal was spent hanging on for dear life against league power Fieras FC (Sorry JD).
Its hard for me to draw many conclusions given the higher caliber teams I'm playing this season, but I have noticed a pretty significant difference in the passing. I'm seeing an increase in short passes among all my players & an increase in missed crosses from my better midfielders. I'm not sure the new ME is more random than the old one but Fieras was the game I least expected to get a result given their skill/depth on defense.

Man, six games and I have five ties. I'll take the points and like being undefeated, but it would be nice to win some of these close games.
I like stealing points against the polar bears and riverhounds, but giving up own goals when our best defender is hurt and our second best defender is suspended sure if frustrating.

Only 25 tackles and only 24 shots. I'm not mad. I myself got some lucky win because of the new engine, but I do think this game got worse after each update. The random factors is too big and the tactics side is dying. It's getting boring.

I was worried I would lose a few games after being unable to log on for a few days, but it seems my team has fared well in the league.
The ability to affect the games with the choice of lineup and tactics is one of my favorite parts of roccingsoccer. I would be disappointed for that to be lost.

I also do not like the new match engine. There are far toomany random factors and tactics no longer make the key difference, random factors do. With the increase in cards and penalties, you have to depend on luck more often. I have lost 6 matches this season so far(all by one goal) and in seasons past my tactical adjustments andscouting made the difference, as I would win many more close matches. This year, it seems like fouls or bad passes make the difference moreso than tactics. I also feel that with the new match engine I just feel like I am a spectator plugging in attributes on the training screen rather than a manager. I used to login multiple times each day but now, sometimes I don't even login at all. Sorry if this sounded like complaining, I just do not like or agree with the direction that the new match engine is taking this game.
It certainly makes for a more exciting season. Literally anyone could win the league based on the new engine. It was supposed to be less random but the upped cards injuries and lowered percentage of crosses, there are no easy wins anymore.

It took 9 games for the league to normalize with the usual teams on top. Standings are exponentially more close than usual though.
As a top team this obviously doesn't benefit me but at least it means things will be far more competitive than seasons past.

Out shot my opponent 18-6 and out tackled them 11-1. Still lose 3-0. My gk with 5.44 blocking missed all three shots on target. 0/3 on save opportunities. Sometimes I hate this game.
Has anyone had a problem resulting from the change to how injuries are handled this season yet? I haven't had anyone miss any games, but the busy part of the season also hasn't started yet.
