jeudi septembre 3 - 10:49 After relegation the season before last, Stoke Town won division 3 on the first ask to bounce straight back up.
Their first match saw them visit old rivals Cherry coke.
A look over the teams, shows that Stoke have the marginally better team on paper.
Both keepers are of a similar skill and ability
both defences are evenly matched
Stoke town have slightly stronger midfield and whilst Coke have their star striker hoo-gwo King up front, backed up by a young Lovric
Town have Dessalegne and Aittoniemi both of whom are as good if not better than King
On paper it should be a close one, with Cherry Cokes home advantage perhaps edging over Stokes midfield superiority.
The whistle blew,
Both teams lined up in a 4 4 2 diamond formation
It took just 12 minutes for Cherry Coke to spoil the party, with Lovric easily putting away a Hanari ball, completely out foxing the keeper.
12 minutes after that and it was 2 - 0, this time Hanari puts the ball to King who dutifully nets it.
And that was it, the rest of the game was pretty even , with Stoke getting more possesion ( 51%) but what few chances there were all went begging.
The Cherry Keeper only really had to make 2 saves.
In summary, Stoke strikers need to wake up, or we could be looking at a long hard season again.
