mercredi octobre 14 - 13:53 We've had a fair bit of personnel change in the last couple of rounds of National Team selection. Unfortunately, I've chosen to drop both of my US NT players. We've had an interesting, 6.25 talent, 24 year old keeper pop up on the shortlist, from the top team in Norway. We need to start grooming Skidmore's replacement, and this is the best prospect currently on the shortlist. I've also sadly dropped forward Cheung Fang in favor of developing younger players. Traba has surpassed Fang as the #2 forward on the team and there are several good prospects on the shortlist at Forward, including Foga from Ash Burn. Traba and Boden should both be preferred over Fang by the World Cup.
We've also lost Westerman from the shortlist. I was sad to see him go. Despite his advanced age, he was a very effective defensive midfielder. It will be up to Medinosky for FC-Subkid to take over this role, though the shortlist presents a couple of other candidates to take over the primary defensive midfielder role in the coming weeks.
Friday is extremely important for world cup qualifying as we take on Guatemala at home. A win would over the second place team in our group would go a long way to getting us in the qualification playoffs. Perhaps we'll play in Ulysses' new 70000 seat stadium. A 70,000 seat soccer only stadium in the US? Who would have thought that would have been possible?
I am a little frustrated that we had an interland game scheduled a few hours before the qualifyer. My strategy for that game is simply to keep the starting 11 as fresh as possible.
