I don't know if he's bugged but I would like to know how he promoted 2 STs on exactly the same day. Possible but rather unlikely.

Hard to be sure but it looks difficult to get him to that standard.

With 9.58 scoring he needs 1,552,498 XP if he started on 0.25 (the max it could have been).  With the following:

FA4 with a 21% boost from two 10* staff throughout

250 league games

40 cup games

80 continental cup games

80 friendlies

50 caps in competitive games

36 caps in friendlies (he has 86 caps total)

He can earn 1,448,332 XP.

My calc doesn't include youth cup/champions' cup games but there's over 100,000 XP difference so he'd need 200-odd counting games in those, which is clearly impossible.  I can't think of a way for him to have played enough games or been at a higher FA level for him to get that good.

I'm not convinced by your numbers. For instance:

14 1/2 seasons x Hardworking = 360+ league matches.

Other aspects that could make a difference.

- player morale

- time spent in youth academy before promotion.

I don't think it's fair to say a player is bugged (or worse) unless we can be certain the numbers don't stack up, so I had a quick check myself. There are too many unknowns to be sure of anything but I can get close enough to say the amount of xp is entirely plausible if you take everything into account.  That doesn't mean he's not bugged, but there's no proof that he is.

Maximum achievable xp assuming 30 days in the youth academy, an extra 0.5 balls training morale and 10% match experience = 1.67 million xp. 

I've put the numbers below if anyone wants to check them.

753 days training in FA14 with 2 staff ===> 1,224,559 xp 

(Number of matches based on 14.5 seasons and hardworking)

360 league matches = 177,000 (est. 300 senior and 60 youth)

58 Cup matches =  17,400 (max)

24 U21 Cup matches =  8,800 (max)

116 friendlies = 17,400 

80 Continental club matches  = 24,000

34 International qualifiers  =  20,400

18 International finals  =  14,400 (a few more for world cup)

34 Interland   =  13,600

* Total match xp = 293,000 (max)

*** Training plus match experience = 1,517,559 xp ***

Training morale (+/- 0.5 ball) = +/- 76,535 

Training morale (+/- 10% match exp) = +/- 29,300

up to 30 days in youth academy = 48,000

@Numpty According to your numbers, in an ideal case, the player does manage to cover all the remaining xp but with barely any breathing ground (A direct subtraction of the 1.67 with the remaining gives around 1,500 xp but I'll assume 10,000 xp as cover)

Even then, you're forced to assume that the player plays each and every minute of every match which wouldn't be true in the seasons leading up to his peak and even in U-21 matches where the entire team gets substituted.

I make it that he has a shortfall of around 50-60,000 xp based on the standard calculations. But in the best case the maximum obtainable with player morale and a long stint in the youth academy exceeds his total xp by around 100,000.

So it's plausible. 

And you only need to play 45 minutes for maximum match xp. This is why half-time substitutions is common practice.

How did you consider the matches when he is on the bench?

Unused subs don't count towards anything. 

The total number of matches in any competition that count towards xp has to be a best guess. But when we're looking at the maximum possible then we need to use a fairly high bar for the estimates.

He probably would have made 50 star earlier, but he effectively stopped improving when Koen resigned around the start of last season. He also had a season or two when Koen was in debt and had the FA downgraded.
