The new season starts this afternoon with the Super Cup between the Gothiques Amienois and Seaburn Beach.

On the Championship side, a rookie in attack for our team, but some teams have strengthened themselves.

We will therefore see the same teams at the top of the table, it will probably be necessary to wait for the last days to have the final classification: a very disputed championship

Congratulations Seaburn on another super cup win. Here's a good pub quiz question, "Who was the last team other than Seaburn to win the super cup?" Answers on a post card. 

LGA showed their champions mentality scoring twice in the last 15 minutes and the winner with the last kick off the game to overcome Oxford. With determination like that they will be the team to beat this season. 

The title winners are certainly going to come from LGA, Seaburn, Jaypridee, Newcastle or perhaps Canvery Island. 

The monks line up a lot stronger this season than we did at the beginning of the last one. We will hopefully challenge for the European spots, but this aging team could fade towards the end of the season. Good luck all!

Tricky question that. 

After a bit of research I believe the correct answer is Melchester Rovers. 

No doubt Roy Race was the star player.

Spot on Numpty. I knew you'd know. Get that team sorted and get up here in league 1! This promises to be the closest title race ever and we can add Candas to the list I posted before, as he has made some fabulous signings, has a great squad and knows what it takes to win this title. Thanks for the invitation to the party.

Truth is I've been vacillating for the last few seasons whether to build an expensive FA or have a lot more money to spend on ready-trained players. 

My head tells me to just buy ready trained. That seems to me to be the most effective use of finances if you want to win things.

But my heart says to have an FA5 to train some top players and enjoy the ride. I think that gives a more enjoyable game experience but FA 5 makes it very difficult to both make a challenge and balance the books. 

In the meantime I'm experimenting with a few things and also piling up the pot of gold. Can't go wrong with a bit more money before starting the climb.

Well I have no money and don't have the facilities either. So no point asking me. I'm just treading water caught betwixt and between.

European adventure over relatively early. 1-1 draw away in the second leg, so the own goal in the first leg proved to be the decider.

One problem is that at the very top of the game a few clubs massively overspend for a few seasons. It's not sustainable so the manager either leaves or the club goes into hibernation while it recovers. It's difficult to compete with that - and I don't want to play that way myself. 

I guess that reflects real life and is why they brought in financial fair play regulations. Maybe the game should have something similar. 

What @Stephen's done by staying at the top of the English league and in the latter stages of the ECL for so many seasons is quite remarkable.

The league money supply is now sitting at around £40 billion. I'm still trying to figure out all the clubs with a large balance.

So that's what the attraction of coming to England is. The chance to run a shiny new football club in the lower tiers.

There was me thinking it must be our lovely sunny and warm climate, our amazing Government and our not broken at all health system. Oh and of course the chance never to retire by the time pension age eventually reaches 100, which is of course great for Rocking soccer goalkeepers. Surprised more French aren't looking to move here with our superb retirement age and the best pensions in Europe ...

I have a league and cup double against CandasXI tomorrow......so I expect to have tasted defeat in both competitions by the end of it.

EDIT: Lost away in the cup but won at home in the league (I'm happy with that).
