OK - I've gone a day or so early, but hey, live a little.
Decent draw in first round of Europa League qualifiers, so at least I'll earn us a few ranking points.
Anticipating another season like the last. OK, without really threatening to win anything. YA level 3 nearly ready and cash available to either take the YA or FA to level 4 - not sure which to do. Will probably be a spur of the moment decision!
Managed to bag the Super Cup against them, but expecting a stiff challenge from the Juggers this season. They are a strong unit now.
Hoping to make it to the CL group stage this season, but I have to get past two qualifying rounds to make this happen. My squad has been revamped a little, with some ageing players moved on. But I don’t think I have the same depth of squad as in previous seasons.
Finally saved for Youth Academy 3 without selling my best wonderkids. But my squad is stripped to the bones. Hard season ahead.
Safely through Q1 - looks a lot tougher in Q2.
Nice easy start to the season away to the mighty Beach. Tried something different. Still got beaten. Next time it's 2-3-5 all out attack and punting long balls up the pitch - maybe with a fly goalie :)
The mighty Beach are not so mighty today. Mind you, I feel this is one of the unluckiest results I have ever had. 22 normal shots away from home and only one goal scored, with my GK giving away a random penalty? Oh well, we’ll put this one down to experience and hope that all of our bad luck is dealt with in one match...
I can't believe I won that match. Hopefully it's not an isolated result and a hint of more things to come.
Safely through Q2 in the Euro League. Liverpool thumped their opposition, so we're still on 4/4 going into Q3...
Nope, that was very much not the end of the bad luck.
This is shaping up to be a strange topsy turvey season.
It's (sort of) starting to settle down I thought, but looks like the gaps are smaller than previous seasons. Give it another 9 games and everyone will have played everyone once, then I expect the table to look very familiar...
Europe-wise, it's not looking great in the playoffs - I got a lucky 2-2 away draw in the first leg against a superior team and hoping for the same luck in the second leg. All our other teams are on the edge - we could still be on 4/4 into the groups, we could go to 1/4 (with Seaburn dropping in Europa groups from CL).
It’s vitally important that we all get as far as we can in Europe this season. We have a real chance to go up the rankings for the first time in a number of seasons. We only have to go up one spot to get an extra European place back. If we do well, it might be possible to go up several places. This will mean we give ourselves a chance of more European spots and our teams will start later in the competition. It’s easier to make ranking points from the groups than it is from the qualifiers...
So, please do what you all can to make it to the group stages this season. Everyone is counting on us!

Now we’re just waiting for Red City Juggers who kick off at lunchtime. This is probably the most difficult time to turn round following a 1-0 home defeat. Not impossible though. Come on!
And we are 4/4 through! Great work - now let’s capitalise and push on as far as we can from here.
