Mint sauce is good, plus mix it with some mayo and use it on chicken tikka sandwiches as a makeshift raita.

Surely it would be better to mix it with natural yoghurt than mayo...

Not if you don't have any yoghurt. I tend to have mayo in most of the time, not always the case with yoghurt.

Marmite is OK. As I lived for most of my youth in Leeds and the rest in Australia, I have some authority in this and can honestly say that the answer is not Marmite and it is not vegemite. It is Bovril. Cheese and Bovril sandwiches are amazing.

Agreed. Bovril is very underrated.

Nah, Mayo. Mint mayo (I think you can even buy it), Pesto mayo, mustard mayo, cracked black pepper mayo - all depending on what you're eating/putting in your sandwich.

Salad cream is ok. Marmite is

Edit: Bovril is ok. Cup of hot bovril at the footy in the old days. From what passef as a food stall in the old shed terraces at Stamford Bridge. The entrance was even known as the bovril gate.

Bovrilgate. The UK's answer to Watergate. :)

Bovril as a drink is not great. I'd rather use an oxo cube with a bit of pepper in it. When used in a similar fashion to marmite/vegemite (i.e. in a sandwich or on toast) however, it is phenomenal.

The real Bovrilgate is how they removed the beef extract and made it vegan friendly...
