Can FC Red Bull Salzburg do it? (16)
Most of the season it looked very good for FC Schruns to be able to get second place - then SC Columbia stepped it up and took second. Now FC Schruns lost against FC Red Bull Salzburg in a home match - Red Bull is now only 3 points down.
Last Season FC Red Bull Salzburg was able to stay ahead of FC Schruns by 4 points... Can they repeat the 3rd place?
The remaining program for both teams:
FC Red Bull Salzburg:
Home: FC Wien #2, Sigma, FC Korndackeln, SC Columbia, FC Wien #5
Away: FC Innsbruck, FC Piramida, FC St. Pölten
FC Schruns:
Home: FC Piramida, FC St. Pölten, FC Wien #2
Away: FC Korndackeln, SC Columbia, FC Wien #5, Sigma, FC Innsbruck
So Schruns has to play the tougher games... with a 3 point lead. Goal difference is
+28 for FC Schruns
+21 for FC Red Bull Salzburg
So with even points FC Schruns should be able to secure the second place.
Don't forget that SC Columbia won the Cup, so their Qualification Spot for Euro League falls to the third place and therefore the fourth team can still play Euro League Qualifications. So a fourth place spot isn't that bad.
What are your predictions?
I think Red Bull can make it - it will be tough and Schruns needs to lose a game, but playing against FC Korndackeln and SC Columbia at home, is a big advantage - both teams are already save in their spot, so they will probably use younger players and weaker players that need XP in some games. And FC Korndackelns only league defeat was at the Red Bull Arena...
So it's going to be close. What do you think?

Interesting topic :) Im not going to comment it even tho i have my own opinion :D It will be interesting to see what others think about it and how its going to finnish :)
nice post schorny,
more homematches and playing against FCK and my team at home is a big adavantage. making points at korndackel arena or franz grasberger stadium would for sure decide who ends up on 3th place.
but random factor is high cause the skill diffrence between players is still very low so its going to be close and everything could happen.

I'm afraid they will...
My team started great, 1st place, then 2nd place.
And now 3th place, but probably 4th. I don't know what's wrong ? Weak players, bad tactics ? Yes, the competition is hard. 1st place, even 2nd place would have been difficult.
But we did a great job in the cup. The final, but we lost it. Finishing it, winning the cup, seems to be very difficult for FC Schruns.

Nah, don't give up trueblue - Red Bull still needs to get 4 more points than you. You do have the tougher games ahead, but you can slip once. Red Bull cannot afford to mess up a single game.
Though a home win against Red Bull or even a draw would habe probably be enough to secure the third spot. But now we are able to see a very close and exciting season finish. And remember: this is all about pride and ego and e-penis - because in reality third or fourth place is not much different. You both will be able to play Euro League and TV Revenue is based on points not place.

It's maybe the fact that you change the tactic too often? Last season Cambuur won dutch 1st division by playing only 3-5-2 tactic, even tho they didn't had strongest team they won it pretty easily.I decided to give it a go,last season i kidna sucked and now, only defeat to schorny, beated kosmo, beated you 2 times. Im getting stronger and stronger and to be fair you guys have much better players than i do :) I play only 3-5-2 and i don't intend to stop it.I will just adjust my players to that tactic
FC Schruns basically always plays 4-2-2-2 - which suits them very well. I like the Schruns Formation (though no idea why they switched it up today with 4-2-4).
It is also a matter of which players you have. Schruns now has a lot of good players, but in the beginning with only Esquer as top player the 4-2-2-2 was sooooo strong.

As Schorny says, I almost never change my formation. ;)
OMG OMG OMG.
Schruns won at SC Columbia - after being down 3:0 none the less...
Now FC Schruns is in a very good position, I think this was a deciding win - Schruns should be able to defend the third spot against Red Bull now.

This sure is a surprise :)
Why do you think that schorny? :P Now we have same points and im 3rd and he is 4th,if i beat one of you at home(which is not impossible at all) i will be the 3rd one i guess?
Unfortunately not. FC Schruns is up 3 points and has already played against FC Korndackeln and SC Columbia. You still have to play against SC Columbia. If you win, you are still down 3 points - you need another 3 points from FC Schruns screwing up, to equalize.
But FC Schruns slipped today. 2:2 against FC Hollabrunn, that was not good. So if you win against SC Columbia and FC Schruns draws one more time, you got it :)
But I think Schruns will win both remaining matches... But gogo Mou beat SC Columbia and let's aim for a photo-finish :)

Now it's official.
Congrats to FC Schruns for reaching third Place!
