International Club Season 5 (80)

at schorny >> woensdag september 4 - 14:25
So, after SC Columbia's win in last years Europa League - Austria has something to prove this year.

We are currently ranked 6th best League in Europe (in Real Life Austria is ranked 15th). So let's win some more titles :)

FC Schruns already won their first match against Enniskillen swifts from northern Ireland 4:0, so I guess there will be not too much trouble getting to the next round.

In the next Round Austria Wien Sopron joins the Austrian Forces. They already played once in the European League Qualifiers 2 Seasons ago, but it didn't went that good. Now they are stronger than before and let's see if they can surprise internationally as good as they were able to surprise us in last years austrian league.

FC Red Bull Salzburg will join the competition in the playoff stage (a very good spot they deserved after their magnificent cup performance last year).

SC Columbia will join the Champions League Qualification in the 3rd Round and FC Korndackeln is seeded right into the Champions League Groups.

So let's see what we can do. FC Schruns is already getting us points and FC Red Bull Salzburg and SC Columbia have both very good chances to reach the Group Stage. So with a little bit of luck we may be able to defend our 6th spot :)

Congrats to FC Schruns, they won their first round without any trouble.

But now, the Qualifying Round 2 begins and Austria Wien Sopron joins the fun.

Austria Wien Soprons plays against Hardly Athletic - last year they got 4th in the Greek League, so not too impressive, but still a decent team.

Austria Wien Sopron has overall the stronger squad, but Hardly Athletic (awesome name by the way) has the stronger star players. I am a bit concerned for Austria Wien Soprons offense at the moment, because I think their new Star Forward Laszlo Szabics is weaker than last years loanee Jorma Niiranen. But we'll see.

I think this wil be a close one, I don't know who to favor. But Hardly Athletic already played a few games, so Austria Wien Sopron might be able to get insights into their tactics...

FC Schruns plays against Gatman, who got second place last year in Norway. Overall Gatman are not that strong and are way weaker than FC Schruns. But they have one Ace: the best midfielder in the Chinese National team: Yang Yang. He has 6.2 Stars and an estimated market value of € 9 287 000. FC Schruns has nothing comparable. So this will be interesting. If FC Schruns can contain Yang Yang they should be able to win this. Overall they are stronger, but Yang Yang is able to win games on his own.

So all in all 2 tough opponents. Good Luck to FC Schruns and Austria Wien Sopron.

Austria Wien Sopron won at home against Hardly Athletic 3:1. This is a nice victory, though Austria Wien Sopron needs to be fully concentrated in the second leg. 3:1 is nice, but not enough to feel save.

Nevertheless a home victory is always nice :)

FC Schruns tied 1:1 away against Gatman and it took a set piece by Yang Yang to score against the Schuns' defence. So this seems a nice result for the away match and we can be excited about the second leg.

Both teams did well and I wish both of them luck for their second leg.

Oh noes.
FC Schruns tied 2:2 at home against Gatman and with the away draw of 1:1 this means FC Schruns is out :(

After reaching the Group Stage last year this is a sour defeat :(
But Yang Yang once again gave an assist using a set piece and FC Schruns seemed unable to stop him. Sad sad sad. But at least FC Schruns was undefeated in this Europe League Qualification and going out undefeated is no shame at all.

But let's hope Austria Wien Sopron can do better and defend their 3:1 lead.

Thanks Schorny, we could save our lead, and surprisingly we won also the away match by 2-1. Our next opponent is the swedish team Voorhoot, with full of 4 stars player. It would be hard, but we try our best.

Congrats, that was a cool victory - 2 wins to advance to the next round is nice :)

In the next Round, Qualification Round 3 SC Columbia Floridsdorf (the reigning Europa League Champion) joins the fun.

But this time our opponents are not weak.
Austria Wien Sopron has to play against FC Voorhout Diamonds who are with AFC Ajax the best team in Sweden - they are quite fearsome. Especially their Midfield is way stronger than Austria Wien Soprons. But their Forwards can be matched by the austrian team and their keeper is not the best. So it will be a tough fight, but one that Austria Wien Sopron can win with the right amount of luck.

On the other hand we have SC Columbia Floridsdorf who got really bad luck and have to face off against Dublin Engneers FC the constant winner of the irish league. They are very strong but where never able to match their international success with their domestic one. While SC Columbia clearly outperform themselves in international competitions.

But all in all this will be a very tough round for both teams.

my opponnent is strong, he got a much better defense the i have, the rest is equal. i hope Frey does what he usually does and breaks the opponent ^^

my season goal: qualifying for international groupstage is already in danger :/

You can just throw the league game - because the International Competition is much more important and I swear I won't hold it against you if you give your top players a rest against FC Korndackeln ;)

But yeah, it sucks - but your opponent didn't do well in international qualification even though they tried every year and also this year they nearly lost against a really bad team from albania... maybe they suffer the dynamo zagreb illness: dominating the domestic league means you are not fit for international matches. But we'll see. It would be awful if you'd be out so soon.

And Austrian Wen Sopron's opponent is no pushover too :/

SC Columbia Floridsdorf tied 2:2 at home against Dublin Engneers FC while having way more shots than them. Sad sad sad. 2:2 at home is not the best, it essentially means SC Columbia has to win the away match - this is going to be a tough one, especially against an opponent as strong as Dublin Engneers FC .

But we can still hope and SC Columbia has it still in their own hands to advance. All that is needed is a little luck (let's hope after last season's run they have some luck left...)

Austria Wien Sopron lost away against FC Voorhout Diamonds because they lost their concentration for 5 minutes. 50th and 55th minute saw 2 goals after 2 corners. That's sour :/
But it was the away game and Austria Wien Sopron showed that they were able to get a few good chances in - and that their defense was strong enough to hold against FC Voorhout Diamonds' forwards. So let's see how the second leg will go.

But all in all a sad day for austrian teams :(
we need more support for the austrian teams. So everyone wish them luck and sacrifice a virgin or whatever your religion suggests to do to support your favorite sports team :)

haha lmao

i knew that corners of the Dublin Engneers are going to be a real threat. they got a very good passer and really high duelling defenders.

i tried to keep them away from my goal and defend high. it worked, well lets say it almost worked. the didnt see a lot of the ball and were not able to get a lot of corners. but 5 corners were enough to score 2 goals.

conceding 2 goals at home is bad, and then my offense was not good enough to finish the job. dublins back4 just too stronk.

so its a 2-2 - i dont see a lot of chance to win the away match, i wont be able to play aggressive so corner are going to be much more dangerous.

maybe i should just play risky tactics like hollywood yolo style, allin super offensive ^^ i dont know yet. lets sacrifice some virgins ^^

What a sad day. Not only is the new design awful as a getting up early on a saturday (and this is really really awful!) but also SC Columbia is out without being defeatet. One may say they pulled a FC Schruns :( It always sucks to go out with 2 draws...

And Austria Wien Sopron was not able to turn the tide at home and lost again - no shame there, they had a tough opponent.

So on this sad sad sad day we must turn to FC Red Bull Salzburg and FC Korndackeln to save the austrian grace. This looks grim guys :(

I still can't stand the new colors. Like this big red "You have to write in German or english on this forum" banner right above the area i am typing this post. It makes me so aggressive... RED RED RED RED

But on a different note - I was mistaken: SC Columbia is not out - they fell down into European League Playoff where they had to face FC Bayern Muenchen. And they freaking won away 2:0. Awesome Columbia!! Defend that Europa League Title :)

FC Red Bull Salzburg had a tough opponent in Tyumen-Gazprom from Russia - but overall a beatable opponent. But Red Bull did draw at home 1:1. Though I am not sure how that happened, as FC Red Bull Salzburg had 14 shots on goal to Tyumen-Gazprom's 2. So I don't really know what happened there - maybe they got confused because Tyumen-Gazprom has also a player called "Vendelin" like the Red Bull Star Forward. Maybe that's is the reason for the draw, but as sure as hell wasn't a lack of skill on Red Bulls side.

Though now they have to face a tough away match. So we better start getting a few virgins to sacrifice because a predict a tough one.

But GOGOGOGO Red Bull Salzburg - you can do it :)
