czwartek styczeń 23 - 19:34 Seaburn Beach has witnessed some extraordinary celebrations over the years. Who can forget Addo's streak across the pitch after breaking the league goalscoring records or Addison's dad dance after the Beach clinched promotion to the top flight through the playoffs in season 11 on away goals? Or for that matter the party to end all parties after Seaburn brought the CL trophy back to England?
But it turns out that none of these celebrations even comes close to the absolute scenes that have developed in Seaburn's accountants' office over the course of the window. Pop! The sound of some reasonably priced supermarket fizz being opened as a sale is made. Hoot! A party popper blown to celebrate another wage off the books. Sniff! A mysterious white powder procured from a shifty fellow in a pub snorted into a nostril as another player is exchanged for some cash and some magic beans. Yes, there was disappointment at the lack of bidders meeting the £350m asking price for GK Baladron, but they were not tempted into selling for less.
What does all this mean for the playing prospects? A solid GK, a top forward who fired England to the World Cup final before achieving his dream of receiving a prestigious yellow card and loser's medal, a reasonable midfield and watertight defe... Hang on. We're playing who in defence this season? Lads, is there some spare money to fix this...?
Despite these defensive frailties, Seaburn will be aiming for European football again and also to get through to the EL groups. And two 25-0 victories over the Pixels. (Three if we get them in the Cup.)
