Season 33 thread (114)
Looks like we're all getting cosy in mid-table - feeling a bit chilly up there, Stephen?
I'm just disappointed that my campaign to end the season early appear to have fallen on deaf ears.
Natsumi's Spirit squad took revenge on fellow strugglers Exeter FC who held them to a 2-2 draw in the opening match of the season, this time around the spirit squad's defence was sound holding on to a 2-0 away victory, to claim all 3 points extending there unbeaten run to five games, and remarkably leveling with last seasons total point tally with just 20 games played. Last season's second worse EPL team reclaim 9th place and with a home game against bottom team spurrs dare fans start to dream of a top 10 finish, every bubble bursts eventually but atleast the mangeress now knows that unless her team loose all remaining 18 matches in a row they will have done better then last season.
I tottaly forgot each league had it's own forum.
Hi guys and thank you for the welcome at the begining.
However i feel this is going to be a short stay at the top level having enjoyed my second victory yesterday and my first 3 goal game at this level i got brought right back down to earth today with a 4-0 thumping lol.
I knew this would be a tough season though i hoped i would fair a little better but my team is clearly not ready for this level yet and improvements and growth are much needed to even get close to being ready but i will keep trying to bridge that gap lol.
Nothing wrong with Yoyoing between the leagues, it might even be better then staying in the bottom half of the EPL scrapping by this isn't like real football aside from probably having more away fans to come fill seats in home matches, there's no real benefit from staying up by the skin of your teeth you'll gain more fans if you have postive seasons in championship, then having a horrible time of it here, so don't be disheartened.
I Knew someone who made emitional choices and as soon as they were relegated quit altogether and chances are if they never made that choice they might be doing much better then me, you'll come back up again and perhaps even be pushing for top spot in time, though it'd be hard work.
I questioned my own choice to stay up last season after our worse recorded point tally, but somehow we turned it around and are well looking reasonable in league, but its taken ten plus seasons, and we still not a estabalished EPL team yet, the gap is very hard to break just focus on improving facilities and increasing fan base and maybe you'll supass this old war horse.
On another note, friday's game against Nilehorses United was just shocking on both sides, with just 5 shots between them it was a shamebullect display and I like to make a formal apology. To all Spirit Squad fan's that 0-0 unaccpetable and we'll certainly be aujusting tactic's in our upcoming matches, I know we our safe now but there's no reason to not even try in the match, I'll be conducting interviews and may despline the squad, and I hope Nilehorse does the same.
That's all well and good but getting promoted again will be as much of a lottery.
Plenty of teams in Div 2 of a similar standard to those in the bottom half of div 1 now. Teams which on paper (or screen) have been better than others in div 2 have gone down and struggled.
Teams that started later, because of the new starter bonus, are closing the gap on those that have been stupid enough to forgo upgrading their stadium and have spent money on buying players to stay up instead (looks in mirror).
That said, I'm embracing relegation.
To be honest i think i need the 120,000 stadium now to have a chance of competing fully at the top level so that it now what i am saving for and if i end up staying in level 2 for a couple more seasons that might not be a bad thing then hopefully i will be better placed to compete in level 1 with a couple of super talents coming through so time will tell lol.
Yeah I still not even started my 120k Stadium so :( I second what you said Dragontao, though it was not just buying players I did wrong, i sold a fair few players for less then I should have which eventually cost me, I still need to make changes to stay competitive next season but i gonna need to finish the upcoming transfer window with more money they I started it, else i'll never get the 271m needed to start the work, if i make silly purchases or sales it's be a pipe dream, but I'm homing I can get the money by the end of next season, weather or not we still in EPL by time the 120k stadium's on build or by the time its done.. I do not know.
Very true Dragontao but i still think i have a better chance with 120,000 than my currant 70,000 stadium. I have a few players to sell next window so if i am lucky enough to get the full value for all of them it will set me in the right direction.
And i defenetley agree about the luck bit even this season if i had had a little bit of luck in certain games i could have had 6 or 7 more points but hay ho, still a few games left though so who knows lol.
I'm still on Stadium 8 Focused on getting TC and YC to 10 after taking over and something had to give. Stadium 9 will be ready early next season and I nearly have enough money for Stadium 10 - just need the fans for it now.
Exciting game against Stephen's lot tonight. Just look at minutes 10 to 18, entertainment at its finest
That was a crazy match there wonderlust! How could you contain your excitement.
As for building a team/club... it's just so tough! I think the other thing that makes it really hard is the time - it takes two full seasons to build a level 10 stadium, and in most cases, it's a real struggle to find the funds to make it happen. That means for two seasons, it can be a struggle to find the funds to really improve your first team.
