League of England season 52
Forum: League forum
Discuss your league, who are the favorites to win the league this season? Who will be promoted/relegated, how are you doing in the cup?
League Predictions Competition - Season 76 (26)
To enter just post your predictions in the thread of the final league placings of all 20 teams.
You score the following points for each team in the table:
- +5 - for a correct prediction
- +3 - one place different (higher or lower)
- +2 - two places different
- +1 - three places different
- +0 - four places different
- -1 - 5 to 9 places different
- -2 - 10 or more places different
So 100 points are available if all 20 teams are predicted correctly.
These points will be awarded at the halfway stage after 19 games and then double points will be awarded for the final league positions at the end of the season. Giving a maximum score of 300 points.
There needs to be a deadline for entering. Entries should be posted by the end of day (game week) 5. Which is the end of Monday 16th October. Anyone can still enter after the deadline subject to a penalty of 5 points per day. This allows for most teams to have completed their transfers for the season. You can, of course, enter earlier.
Reserved for future use.

If you are not predicting Mersey Union dead last then you should re-examine some life choices.
Let me introduce myself more properly...
My name is Sam Freggio. I learned my trade and received a fantastic education from Phil Brown (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phil_Brown_(footballer,_born_1959)) and Tim Sherwood (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Sherwood).
From Phil Brown I learned how to get a response out of players that were underperforming, such as this classic moment: https://youtu.be/4G8Gl-Fx_ek?si=L_svcWc13GJ7oizG and from Tim I learned about getting advice from anyone, even fans https://youtu.be/1PiKVYVvn80?si=Gl0DnjfgpJ-HvV2q.
However, nothing was so instructive as when I learned from Brendan Rodgers. Character and intesity. But also 3 Envelopes and telling people that you KNOW who the weak ones are...(https://youtu.be/skUVgyZCuow?si=VkpcW4Dxf52OHZGY)
Am I the greatest Manager in Mersey Union history? I think my record speaks for itself. This club was in disarray. No stadium. No fans. No hope.
I got the gig because I wrote in to the Chariman of the Board. Who was also my cousin. I said "Cousin, You've known me since I was in nappies. You know I love the inverted wingers and false fullbacks as much as I love overlapping centerbacks and a pseudo-gormless midfield. I am inventive. I am English like my namesake Sam Allardyce but even better I'm also Genoese. So I'm double the St Geroge flag. Let me manage this club or I'll tell your mam"
So that was it. I got it straight away.
I won't bore you with all the details but I won the 3rd division 2x. Which is, let's be honest here, more times than most of you lot have won the 3rd division. Sure, you can win your trinkets with all the money and fancy stadiums with the manicured lawns and your sold out crowds shoving their faces full of prawn sandwhiches....but can you lot do it on rainy night Kidderminster against the Puxton Pirates? You've never tested your mettle in that culdron of hate and malice.
Our last escape from 3rd division came via 3rd place and wining the playoffs. From 3rd place!
Last season, with a mix of some old greats and young pups we finished 3rd in 2nd division. And once again, proving my tactical genius, we won promotion. That is now 4 playoff rounds on the bounce we've come through victorious. Scrappy and dogged our opponents couldn't handle the strain of our passing and our kicks. We gave them some lumps, I'm not gonna lie about it but we also played some beautiful football that the boys on la playa could only dream of.
Anyway, I didn't expect to be here. We are in early stages of a large stadium build and we are looking at this as a time to rake in the sweet sweet money. Truth be told we were broke. We spent it all on a crazy scheme to make it 1st Division and also rebuild a stadium but hell, it worked.
I had to sell some players and not get any new ones. We won't win any points unless it is by accident. But that is okay.
You may laugh at us now, but we will be back! Maybe not in 2 seaons or even 5 seasons. Could be 10 seaons from now. But we will back!
Oh, before I forget. It is great meeting you all.
Welcome Sam. I think you'll fit right in.
Great introduction Sam, and more importantly, thank you for the early 3 points - they could be the difference between direct relegation and finishing in a playoff spot! :)
Here's my attempt:
- Seaburn Beach
- Newcastle United
- Jaypridee Town
- Canvey Island
- Forever We Are Wolves
- Scammonden Daoists
- Bolt On Wonderbras
- Tottenham Hotspur FC
- Cardiff City
- Fuchsia FC
- Canvey Pixels
- Oxford United
- heavens light
- Les Gothiques Amiénois
- Vooremaa Wolves
- Robbing Hoodies
- Arsenal Football Club ™
- Birmingham Hunter
- Liverpool FC★
- Mersey Union
I wasn't sure who to pick for the title as it's close between Seaburn and Newcatle, but I think Stephen might just shade it.
Positions 4 to 6: Canvey Island, Scammonden and Wolves could be a good scrap.
Positions 10 to 14: Fuchsia, Pixels, Oxford, heavens and LGA. All seems very close, but had to make a choice.
Best wishes everyone.
Everyone showing an absurd amountof faith in my team!
I'll be OK with 7th, happy with 5th, shocked by 3rd and flabbergasted by 2nd!
Your team deserves to be last. I voted for the manager :D
To be fair, although you have a somewhat average - but improving - keeper, you have the strongest forwards and some of the best defenders. I'd be very surprised if you don't finish in the top 6.
Oooh. Do me Numpty, do me!
You have a goalkeeper and some other players :P
I forsee a lot of low scoring games and another European adventure...
Tough that you missed out on Tyler Blessing, he would have fitted in very nicely
My predcition is for everyone to finish in exactly the same positions as last year with the exception of the promoted teams!
