European Super League (80)

ua Kalle >> četrtek april 22 - 08:13

Those days smaller clubs could keep their squad together for 3/4 years, players left when they where 24 or older.

Now a days less wealthy teams consist of mostly talents between 17 and 22, and the after a few good results they need to sell because top money teams come knocking.

And the most promising talents are swooped away at age 15, before their first contract. Just by offering a job to their parents, pretending not to pay for underaged players, but everybody knows thats just a loophole in UEFA rules that big money clubs use.

How many promising careers are broken at 19/20? Because youngsters who arent even old enough to vote are giving the choice to play at Liverpool, Madrid, Manchester ect... and up in a forein country, being 1 of 60 youths and never get any changes and endup being sold at 18/19 for a few miljon profit. Best practice for the clubs not for those boys.

What about that boy ManU bought from Preston NE years ago as hot prospect and reached to headlines? He should be somebody now.

@Kalle Check up the rules again. It's become easier to pick up youths.

@Balthazor You mean Bradley Cooper? Haven't heard a lot of him since the hangover incidents.

What do the Dutch feel about BeNeLiga?

Hmmm.....it depends from which perspective we look at it. If it's from the practical perspective of the biggest teams in Belgium and the Netherlands having more financial possibilities to challenge the bigger teams, it makes sense.

If it comes to the more 'romantic' side of things, the perspective of your local club, it's probably not as nice, because like Kalle said: it also makes it harder for clubs like his to reach the EL.
