Second Teams (54)
How are everyone's second teams shaping up? I've really enjoyed starting the second team and trying to replace the complete garbage players with slightly less garbage ones.
My second team is La Fortuna in Costa Rica 3.1. That was the original name of the club, I like it, not changing it for now. I used to play on an indoor soccer team called Big Tuna, so kinda sounds like that.
I managed to get 3 players from the Terriers on loan down there, so happy about that. They should help the second team while getting good experience. Won the first 2 games by wide margins, but one was against a bot.

I echo most everything Cooper said, except Mike (Colonials) stole the keeper I have out on loan. Then I played Mike in match #2 and MY keeper made 8 saves forcing me to settle for a tie.
I'm in Costa Rica 3.2. I think that it is actually going to be a tight division. The play is crap, but the competition is fun.

I'm going to take a very long term approach and attempt to build solely from my own youth center (and maybe some transfers of players from Costa Rica) so its slow going for me so far. I'm with Mike, cdowne & T in Costa Rica 3.2. While I did rebrand the team with a name change and new uniforms, I choose to keep the team in it's original small northern Costa Rican town.
I was destroyed by Vincent's team in my first game but I took down the bot in game two so I'm quite content with my first two results.

The 2nd team has been a fantastic addition. I'm sure in 5 or so seasons we will all be in Costa Rica league 1. It's crazy how bad the players are that we are bidding on.
On another note, the team name Coxhinas is based on my favorite Brazilian food as my wife is Brazilian.

The new Youth Center is amazing. Within 3 days of opening it, we recruited 2 supertalents (one is popular) and a determined player. Unfortunately it's these guys:

Apparently everybody has received a supertalent in their second team right off the bat. I think it's supposed to be that way for everybody.
I have not received a super talent. Though, I haven't received a normal new youth player. All have been the 2 bonus upgrade players so far.
Same for me cdowne. I haven't received a ST either but all 6 of my players are from YC upgrades.
I decided to opt for the U.S. Virgin Islands so I could start in level 2 of one of the reopened leagues and have the opportunity to promote to level 1 sooner. The manager of the Rocky Mountain Huskies and two other U.S. managers are in my league. The name of my team is the original name of my primary team.
I've gotten 2 "supertalents" so far, one at level 1 and one at level 2:

Kerwood is pretty decent for this level. Sean "El Divo" Ellis will be spending a lot of time on the ground, either injured or pretending to be injured, I suppose.
I've also somehow gotten 3 popular players. I think I've only had one from my primary club, and that player came from another team (before he became popular).

I have no clue how Wyatt is popular. Maybe he's the mascot?
The free created player I obtained is substantially better than anything from when Rocking Soccer started. He's good enough to possibly be a good prospect for my primary team. In terms of tactics and tackling, he's great for this level of play.

I bid heavily on cheap upgrades initially (2-3 star players that could be obtained for ~10,000 or so). Later I purchased more substantial upgrades for this level of play at every position except for the ones reserved for my popular players.
For facilities I prioritized health center 3 first, beyond starting every other facility possible. Since I am investing heavily to try to promote and compete for a spot in an international league as soon as possible, I want to be able to heal injuries. Stadium will become a priority when possible. My next priority was to start my U21 team with YC3. I'm not too worried about the TC and YC in the short run, beyond improving them to eventually become good in the future, since it is unlikely that any of the players from my YC and original team will be useful for too long, if at all. Unlike when the game started, the players won't be too valuable on the market (though there is now at least the option to sell players to the bank for a pretty good price).
Would anyone be interested in some sort of tournament for second teams (probably limited to teams from the newly reopened leagues since a second team from an established league might start out with much better players) run by managers of U.S. teams?

Fans of Westworld know that Wyatt is popular in that he is well-known, but much more feared than loved. Just be happy he is on your team, as things do not end well for his adversaries.
I don't really have a clear plan for facilities. The first few levels are essentially free, so no reason not to get those quick. I'll probably try not to invest too heavily in YC, but it will be hard to resist.
I'd be in for a second team friendly tournament.

Intersting, I wasn't going to start a youth center at all this time around. I was going to save the funds and focus on my other facilities and buying players off the market. I changed plans this morning and did start one although my focus will still be on training center, health center and stadium. Unfotunately, Cooper has me covered in the 3.1 league in Costa Rica and a player from The Netherlands is in as good a situation as well. We'll see if I can squeeze up in to the top two positions this season. I'm going to have to take one of these two teams down in order to do it!
I'm all for a US second team tournament.
In terms of priorities:
Scout- I stretched to Scout 4 during this transfer window as everyone was bidding on terrible North American players while I tried to expand the search radius a bit. It helped some, but I still spent a TON of credits.
Youth - all YC players have been terrible. We will see what YC3 brings tomorrow when done.
Health - Wanted to get to health 3 to prevent 50% injuries since my depth is terrible.
Overall - With scout 4 and HC3 established, I'm prioritizing TC, YC and stadium when available.
For Costa Rica 3.2, it's cdowne, Vincent and me at the top now, but the season is young.

First season went well. We won every league game, up to the second to last game of the season, where we lost to the second place team (in our third game against them). Over the 33 league games, our average scoreline was 4.6 to 0.2. So a bit sad to get so close to a perfect season, but still really happy to secure promotion to the second division. Should be a lot more competitive than 3.1, we were about half bots. Will probably need to sign a few more players. I have a decent GK, 2 defenders, and 1 forward, the rest are garbage. Hopefully I can loan 3 players from the Terriers again.
I'm happy with my first season in Costa Rica. I'm in the 3/2 promotion playoffs. I'm optimistic, but it is going to be a difficult matchup against the team that ruined Cooper's perfect season.
It was interesting playing in league 3.2. We had some very experienced managers including Vincent. Vincent won, but Mike (Colonials) and finished 3rd and 2nd.
I'm hoping to join Cooper and Vincent in league 2 next season.
