I suspect this is just things balancing themselves up. Last season you probably got some results go in your favour that could have gone the other way. This season you'll probably find a few more bad results. That midfielder and striker will still definitely get you goals and help you get back into the mid-table area at least. It's just whether they will get you quite as many as last season when it felt (to me at least) that they got you slightly more than could reasonably be expected from those players. Even 5 goals fewer would probably mean more dropped points.
You've not got a bad side by any means, but they were probably not really ever realistic league winners in s39. Player for player Liverpool City had a better side and the ME doesn't really allow Leicester City-type scenarios, unfortunately for the rest of us!
Hi All - looking for some advice.
Won the first (home) leg of my Champions League qualifier 1-0 in a fairly even match. They're a higher rated team than mine. What do I do for the away leg? Go all out defence? Settle for a draw? Park a fleet of buses? Or attack for the away goal? My instinct is always attack, but this time I'm having doubts...
Use the scout and see if you can find a match your opponent played that is the same as how he’ll set up against you. Then play around with some lineups and match plans. It’s not a precise science because if he turns up with a different formation/match plan, then your pre-match work is largely redundant.
My instinct would be to play for the draw, but my team is set up for that. If you score one, he needs three...

WHY THE HELL WHENEVER SOMEONE GETS INJURED IN MY TEAM ITS ALWAYS THE GOALKEEPER!!!??? My cup run in ruined now... And so is my perfect form in the league.
At some point in the season....every season...Nathan Allender just forgets how to score... Again 5 games without a goal.
A classic ME match today. A one shot, one goal win from one of the division’s weakest attacking sides while he was also playing ‘minimise defeat’. Not had one of those for a while, so I can’t complain too much. Still, it’s flipping annoying though.
I played minimise defeat against Liverpool away and managed an unexpected draw, even missed a penalty so could of won. Always happy to get anything from Liverpool so a point is a bonus.
To be honest though I had 1 shot on goal to there 11 shots and should of lost as expected. Liverpool are in a different class to my team.

Well - battled through 4 qualifying matches to get into the Champions League groups only to get totally outclassed - 0 points from 5 games, worse than last year when I at least scraped 4 points when finishing bottom of my group. Back to concentrating on the league I guess...
Finished third on the last day of the groups, after being second. Some bad luck with scoring (or lack of) hurt me and I finished third on goal difference. Hopefully the EL draw will be kind and I can pick up some more coefficient points.
I had a 9 game winless streak earlier in the season, but now I'm on a 5 game unbeaten streak
It's been a bit of a topsy-turvey season, but feeling much better about my league position now than I was a couple of weeks ago
Deeprijay Town is in fifth place and has a negative goal difference LMAO.
Am I looking at a different league table? The one on my screen says they've scored 18 and conceded 12.
