Well, the way I see it is simple. Argentina would beat Portugal or Portugal would beat Argentina, as football is a team sport.

Framing it as a 1v1 matchup is a bit strange to me, but I also have no interest in Ballon d'Or, so I suppose it comes down to a matter of preference. I tend to focus more on the team than the individual - perhaps that's one reason why I play games like Rocking Soccer. ;)
