Let Season 28 begin!

First off... congrats to Heavens Light, FC Baltica and Blooming White Roses on achieving promotion to League 2. Best of luck this season - it looks like you've got decent teams for this League.

Welcome back to Exeter and Lancashire FC. Kesvick you were really unlucky to go down last season, so I'm not expecting your team to hang around for long, whilst Exeter are going to be pretty tough opposition too. We also welcome the managerless London City 5 into the League.

After a near miss last season, my Cambridge team are targeting a place in the play-offs. Anything less would be a bit of a disappointment.

Good luck everyone!

Good luck to you too Matt! Seems like it's taken you a while to get here, but fingers crossed you'll be able to stick around! It would be nice to have a slightly more active forum this year :)

The last 3 seasons I had the best defensive record but just couldn't score! Changed it up a little and bought an extra player or two and totally surprised myself! As I said, im not expecting miracles this season. Survival and maybe a little cup run and I'll be happy

8 games in and my Cambridge team are still undefeated. It hasn't been pretty, but with I can't complain about having the best defensive record in the League.

In other news, two of the teams down from League 1 also remain undefeated - it just goes to show how big the step up is to reach League 1. Exeter and Lancashire... I'll be doing my best to chase you down!

So far Heavens Light have been the pick of the new boys, currently holding on to a promotion place. Things don't look so rosy for the Blooming White Roses though (pardon the pun) who have only managed one goal so far this season, and are stuck to the bottom of the table. However, there's still plenty of time for things to change.

I must confess I'm v happy with my current position. This league is a lot harder than l3 (obviously) but I'm holding my own at the moment. I'm expecting a bad run at some stage tho

... I hate this game sometimes

Still... well done to the Blooming White Roses, who've managed to lift themselves off the bottom of the table!

I had that last season! A team had won once and I was unbeaten! It does throw up some ridiculous results some time!

Well... almost halfway through the season and things are getting interesting! With the transfer window about to open, will we be seeing any huge signings?

At the top of the table, the undefeated Lancashire are running away with it - will they manage to go the whole season unbeaten?

It's also a tight battle in the race for the play-offs - Cambridge and Exeter are currently leading the way, but about 8 or 9 different teams could make it.

Things are also pretty close at the bottom of the table. After their dreadful start to the season, the Blooming White Roses are now outside of the bottom 4, as are the other newly promoted teams - keep it up!

As for my own Cambridge team, it's the same story as the past few seasons - a good overall goal difference, but we've been struggling to turn those draws into wins. However, as long as we can hang on to a play off place, I'll be a happy manager!

Losing your keeper will be tough but fingers crossed it should be ok - it's only for 1/2 more games!

My top striker only went and got injured in the next game, so I'm not looking forward to my cup match against the current League 1 leaders...

Normally 42/43 points is enough to stay up, and it looks like you've been a bit unlucky - most your matches have been pretty close, so I'm sure you'll get a bit of luck soon!

I think in my first season in division 2, I had 4 points after the first 12 games, so I've seen teams with worse runs of form manage to stay up! A couple of wins and everything will be looking much better!

Also, big well done FC Kensington, who managed to inflict a first defeat of the season on runaway leaders Lancashire FC.

Will this be the start of a spectacular collapse for Lancashire, or have they already got enough points in the bag? Only time will tell...
