The scoring on each player was as follows:

• F1 (7.17) [=7.1708]
• F2 (6.10)
• F3 (7.17) [=7.1693]
• F4 (8.72)

With the forwards the star value is already largely based on the scoring attribute, so if speed produced an extra multiplying effect when added to scoring this would show as a much greater increase in F4 than in all the others.

Besides which F1 and F3 are very similar in almost every value and with near identical scoring, but F1 gets at least double the increase in star rating.  The most obvious difference between them is a half-ball of Speed.

I also recorded him at 16.95 soon after the update for the new day. So was a little surprised by the later drop to 16.90. But when I investigated this can be explained by him playing a match at DM which resulted in a small loss of positional xp (937 to 933).
