Welcome back Deca and good luck everyone. For Melchester, this season is one of consolidation, having hit the button to upgrade to TC12. No money for transfers means an aging squad will get older. At the risk of sounding like Arsene Wenger, a top four finish and European football will be good news for the club and a successful seaosn. If I'm really lucky I might get the privledge of losing to Seaburn again in the cup final. Good luck all and this league is getting stronger every season.

Thanks fixture computer. After an appalling run of form at the end of last season, Seaburn away first match. Guess who is going to bottom of the table at the end of the first round of matches.

Can anyone explain the discrepancy between last season's league table and the actual European Qualifying spots?

The league table shows 4 qualifiers, with Newcastle in European League QR1, but they have direct entry to the group stage. 

Also Les Gothiques Amiénois, who were 5th, are in the European League QR1. 

What am I missing here?

Seaburn won the champion ship and the Cup.

So : If the winner of the cup qualifies for the Champions League then the European Cup ticket is awarded to the best team in the league which did not qualify for the Champions League.

On the league table there are 4 places for European Qualifying spots

But there is 1 place for the winner of the cup, so 5 places are european

A relatively rare supercup win for Seaburn sealing the final bit of silverware from season 56. (I'll never get my head around why this isn't the supercup of season 57. I understand the logic but it's just too weird...)

So with Melchester (2nd) in the Champions League they are unaffected and Newcastle (3rd) get the cup ticket for the European League group stage. 

Then your team (5th) essentially get Newcastle's place in QR1.

Not really sure how my team will go this season.

After a really poor 1st half of last season things picked up quite well in the 2nd half and a ninth place finish was not to bad after all.

This season though i will be blooding some youngsters so it really could go either way, so fingers crossed lol.
