About Austrian NT (66)

ee Balthazor >> jueves junio 14 - 19:50

I think Austrian NT manager needs more balls to guide managers about training their players. In last qualification Albania wiped their ass with Austria being one of weakest countries in RS both continentally and nationally (how else to call 0-3 and 0-3) with awful selection.

Albanian manager onuelver is my referral in RS and I was his teacher both in RS and IRL (he came to my class) plus my best friend. He is not very polite when it's necessary to say "sorry, but your player with high star value is s**** without these skills and attributes and I prefer younger and weaker one with needed attributes" and maybe owners of some Albanian players dislike him, but he has been damn effective with one of the worst NT selection in RS. His former stint on Estonian NT may seem as complete fail, but he brought in early many young players, who later played in European Championship season 33, which was Estonian first ever advancing through R1 on final tournament. He is fan of youngsters and his teams are always one of the youngest in leagues, usually counted as overachievers by poor star value. He has enough balls to say that without these skills your player will not be in NT but belongs to garbage. Albania has much less active domestic clubs on sufficient level for producing NT players than Austria, they lost recently two of their best managers having some NT potential players, those teams were taken over by couple of locusts and now quite ruined by poor management.

Austria needs probably somebody similar (I am not confident enough for saying this, just having NT with couple of very talented players and active community, so our talents are mostly trained on right way). Maybe current circle of potential managers would get more courage from this.  My own Austrian players are not NT material, maybe some of my YC10 pulls will reach to my first squad one day. And most of Estonian managers are not very interested in NT managing, so I have to be maybe lifetime Estonian manager :D as we have just one, but very bad experience with foreign manager, who plays in Estonian league, but had no enough skills and ruined our chances of qualification.

Little rewiev about shortlist:

Keepers: Woile is undisputed #1 some next seasons and my preference to #2 is Froehucher as much younger than Annaeus but for qualis bench Annaeus is maybe better and he should get some interlands too. If our chances are early gone, then younger one will play in some qualis too.

Defenders: we have no superstars, but lot of average central defenders. Mostly they have necessary special skills too. Some defenders are trained quite strangely. Wingers look weaker and we have very few of them. There is no point to waste experience for passing and scoring, those 1-2 goals they can score from corners without that too, but their defending skills remain weaker.

Midfield looks very messy one: too many players are something between DM and AM, but not good enough in any of those, too old-fashioned type (no flesh, no fish like Estonians say). Our best mid is not supertalent at all, just born with good age and trained well. For attacking mid (AM, RM, LM) dueling is not necessary, defensive mid needs maybe more dueling than passing. Playmaker is must be for attacking mids, it gives like 2 stars of more valur to player. When I reached to League 1, half of teams had no playmakers and that's why my 2 stars weaker team survived here. And I don't believe in Winger for midfielders, they are always clearly overshadowed by Playmakers.

Austria has no clear DM, there are couple of players called "DM-like product" and probably I'll use some of defenders on that position as they work better on that position than typical "3 balls of dueling and some 5+ balls of passing". Many seasons ago I specially sold my old type DM and played with defender on DM position whole season- and I didn't suffer any way in quite tight Estonian league, stayed on same league position as previously.

Forwards look OK, but nothing very special.

Our group is not easy for us: Netherlands are one of top countries, Norway has strong squad and Greece played on last World Cup too. Maltaand Faroe Islands are our direct rivals.

Against Netherlands scout predicts for any lineup that we lose 0-2 or 0-3 and have almost zero moments. Star value difference is almost 4 stars.

As most of Austrian players come from just 3 clubs we have very thin base.

Somehow all my matches against Netherlands want to end with draw laughing I can't imagine how furious they can be now. They were very upset after draws with Estonia, especially because of my kamikaze tactics there. We had just one moment and took maximum we would get here. Woile did good job on second half and it was nice to watch that our "DM" Weber overplayed opposite's DM.

Scout's predictions against Norway were typically 0-2 and 0-3, so 0-0 is not bad result for last-ranked country of Europe. This time kamikaze worked against clearly stronger opponent, maybe because of their bot lineup we kept game balanced and had some moments too.

Still don't understand, what makes Malta so dominant that average prediction by scout was 0-3 with every tried formation.  Thet are not so superbly better and are easily trashed by several teams.

Predictions against Greece are all very bad, giving us only slim chances for draw with barely couple of goal chances. Let's risk...

Well, Sschwendt was a mistake. But we have lack of good wingers. At least we had hope until last minutes and goal chances too.

It was nice to see that you will change the squad but for the last games you bring older players, why ?

Just chose players who would fit with that formation.

At least we have now Heick as another winger. Not very good one as born around 15,0 yo and missing early youth games, so relatively poor dueling for wingers, but that is our selection- short list of shortlist. I wrote to Metselar's owner about attributes to get at least Correct him and hopefully Man Marker too.

I considered about young Camerarius too, but his times are coming and he will be called back probably for playoffs. Still hoping to get some more points.

...and so disappeared our last hope of point.

Our NT is some degrees worse than dreadfully bad. Our forwards can't shoot past keeper who is worse than ours and against who other countries scored 4-5 goals.

Now it looks even weirder that we got our only points against top teams of group.

Another worse thing is that we have no good youngsters knocking on NT's door: only two u21 players who are already in. But Radetzky should play already first team matches in his club and Eppstein is 4.8(!!)-talented player with one season of youth games missing- I haven't bought any players with talent 4.8 about 10 seasons (for my first team it's even longer)

Thinking about future after several seasons and searching for domestic talents:

Wiener Philharmoniker(one of 3 main clubs in NT) Has YA2.

Def Schindele and later Roth, mids Fleischhauer and Gleitsch, Riedesel and later Spies look all promising and probably with NT future. Possibly last supertalent was Akararu(YC10, Cook Islands) so hopefully soon is something coming and let's hope he'll be Austrian. Knows how to train players. Maybe should use young talents more in first team(3 talents who will play 45 minutes against bottom sides).

FC Alt Erlaa(one of 3 main clubs in NT) YA2 in progress

Looks a bit careless with his u21 team: players don't look very promising and are missing games: credit player waits 3 months to get his debut on field?? Or some crisis with youth team? Hagner pulled season ago at age under 15 and only 1 match on whole season frown Laurentius born with perfect age and no matches on whole month?? It's last time to save him and start to play him, otherwise there will be no more NT players. My suggestion: sell those wasted 18-19 years olds and start to train next youngsters coming. They will never be good enough even for my mediocre club! Currently there is lots of wasted potential frown

Austria Vienna(no NT players currently) YA2

Pulls players from many countries, real Inter or Chelsea :D but unfortunately Austrians happen to be weakest ones. At least normally rotated and maybe some of them will rise to NT.

SCR Maul (one of 3 main clubs in NT) YC10

Main problem is old-fashioned training program. Unneeded skills cause them being weaker on main skills despite having high star values. Kupfernagel is our only 6+ talent, but relatively low passing will express in bad assist rate at our league level (compare with Naegeli from Alt Erlaa with talent under 5 and passing over 0.7 balls better). My 2 stars weaker team is able to play with similar results.

Keeper Weinbaum: very old-born supertalent but maybe our best keeper on season 60. Other players don't look anything special and may stay behind players from academies, but some of them probably reach to shortlist.

Simmeringer SC(no NT players) YA1

Academy ST should come soon as last ST just disappeared from list. As there are two YC10 bonus players in, it might be third next player. Current biggest hopes are mid Vincentz and fw Busemann, but they are very young yet. Other players are mediocre ones and probably not good enough for shortlist. Maybe keeper Bassmann? But he has missing season in Kuwait.

FC Liberty(1 player in NT) YA2 in progress

Active team on market with youths. Probably ST is coming soon.

Keeper Winterhalter(very young), def Buchholz, fw Jotten look most promising players.

FC Rapid Wien (no NT players) YC9

Nothing coming currently because of YC9 and poor youth management so far(21yo wasted 4* players preferred to 16yo fresh pulls).

SC Pernegg (no NT players) YC10

No NT material currently. Looks like he is pulling oldest possible players as last pull is 3 days ago almost 18yo player yell so there is nothing coming too.

FC Voi Gas United (no NT players) YA1

Another weird team with all 16+ youngsters. 6+ talent mid Eichendorf needs surely more than 16 games per season! Set max age to 15 to get any normal players!

Lunatic Purple Gekos (no NT players) YA1

Sells all his youngsters to buy better ones. Defender Knab was recent ST https://rockingsoccer.com/en/soccer/info/player-1824705 ST and at least sold to New Zealand best team, so he should be one of our future stars.

Other minor teams have no enough base for NT players.

This critical message may make me most hated person in this league, but it also shows, why our NT is one of worst in world any why my club starting from zero has reached so high: struggling teams are struggling mostly because they do something wrong:

1)It starts from bad youth management very often: - no decent youngsters who are good for club or bring money when sold - no chance to have (grow or buy) good players - no extra bonuses like bigger TV-revenue and stadium income and continental matches and cup advancing bonuses - poor team

2) training mistakes. After my rise to mid-table couple of teams probably explored my team very carefully (how the hell so bad players can play so well) and discovered trainable attributes like Playmaker. Those teams probably experienced some rise of results too.

Mids, mids, mids...those typical old-school 5 balls passing+3 balls of dueling are not good anywhere. Offensive mids who should give assists don't need any dueling! Again check Kupfernagel vs Naegeli last season. Defensive mids need more dueling than passing. You can play defender on DM spot and he works better there than "classical" DM who is just like empty space. Yes, there is still problem that their star value is rated so down that they will have problems with reaching to shortlist. One key might be our Weber: train player as defender and start with dueling (without blocking) and add passing later. Then he should be counted as defender based on his good enough dueling and maybe has better star value than player trained as mid. But this is just theory. I'll experiment that with this player: https://rockingsoccer.com/en/soccer/info/player-1778966 and already noticed that passing doesn't give any star value to defender.

I don't think this critical message will make you the most hated person in this league. In fact, I think you are a responsible national team coach.

As for my team, I took over less than a year. When I took over, the talents were severely broken and the funds were short. In order to remain competitive, I always buy players with high cost performance. Unfortunately, there are almost no such Austrian players in the transfer market. In view of this, I start to upgrade YA & FA with the rest of the money, and don't add other countries in YA to make sure the super talent is Austrian, hoping that there will be several good Austrian players and i will continue to do so.

Good news, i found that Martin has created several high-talent(all above 6) players with credits,a keeper,a defender and a midfielder. You said your supertalent has arrived before and you are thinking about his future position.Since i have a talented keeper too,i suggest change your player's position to forward.

Actually, soon it should be quite easy to get players to Austrian NT: have academies and train them normally. Normally Eppstein should have no chance to shortlist as he has average YC10 player with mediocre talent, but there is no better players from same age coming (which is the worst part of this).
