Season 66 (95)

You've got to feel sorry for the fans who were so disappointed that Seaburn had lost that they left 15 minutes early ...

Congratulations Stephen on your European title. Fantastic and thoroughly deserved.

Never to miss out on a marketing trick Scammonden Scumbags quickly produced 200,000 commemorative coins with the head of Danny Lindor on one side and "European Champions League Winner from Scammonden Scumbags" on the other. Around the rim in tiny letters it says 'Seaburn Beach Season 66 winners'.

In the match v Seaburn this afternoon Danny Lindor himself once again proved the 'law of the ex' by scoring in the 9th minute and after squashing rumours that he could be returning to the Wuthering Depths stadium next season, he was ironically hit by a flying commemorative coin in the 67th minute, meaning he had to be stretchered from the field of play.

Scammonden have launched an enquiry and are interviewing fans on an individual basis. We confidently predict to have completed the 200,000 interviews by season 78 and are hopeful of finding he culprit by season 95. A spokesperson apologised to Seaburn Beach and said that mistakes have been made and lessons will be learned.

Congratulations Stephen - well deserved indeed!

Doubt it made up for losing the U21 Youth Cup Final to the lads from Jaypridee Town on penalties though!

Marvellous. Well done Stephen it's the biggest achievement in the game. Reminds me of a certain match in 1999 vs Bayern Munich when Solskjaer put the ball in Germans net....oh happy days.

It's a week of firsts: Stephen lands his first European trophy, and Alex's Canvey Island team win the cup and now have their first trophy.

Congratulations gentlemen!

CORRECTION: Alex has won a few of the Friendly Cups, so this is his first big boy trophy.

Well done, Alex. Good to see a new name on the honours board. I think we'll be seeing a few new names in the coming seasons. It feels like the standard in the league has really improved over the last 'decade'.

Congrats Alex. Great stuff.

Winning the English Cup is second only in importance to the Canvey Island Trophy.

I suspect it's only on loan for a season though, as Seaburn decided to concentrate on the wooden spoon trophy ... aka the European Champions League. They just haven't got their priorities right.

Thanks lads. When Stephen got knocked out, people round the club started muttering about finally winning the cup. On October 16th 2016, me and Lee both started clubs in England.

It's taken:
2070 days,
or 5 years, 8 months, 1 day,
o
r 68 months, 1 day

for one of us to actually win a bloody trophy.

In other words, it's taken an exceptionally long time to win something useful! I hope the second bit of silverware doesn't take as long.

Incidently, it's exactly the same amount of time Canvey Kebab House has gone since their last positive review on Yelp.

Alex - you've done it quickly! I started out on 5th April 2013 and after an initial burst going through the leagues, it took a while to establish myself in the top division. Since then I've finished 2nd in the league 11 times (all to Stephen, including once on goal difference in an undefeated season of over 100 points) and lost the cup final 7 times (all but one to Stephen I think).

25 consecutive seasons of European qualification and all I have to show for it, is 1 Super Cup, 2 Youth Cups and 28 Friendly Cup victories! Major trophies are not an easy thing to win in the era of the mighty Beach...

And there it is, the European trophy winning star has finally appeared next to the name of Seaburn Beach. Maybe it'll even turn gold at some point...

A fabulous season. Well done to Seaburn on both their league title and European Cup sucess. Tremendous.

Canvey Island win their first major in the from of the prestigious Cup. Well done Alex. Magnificent effort.

Deeprijay's young boys win the Under 21 Cup. That's not easy and shows the future is very bright for them. Well done and congratulations.

Interestingly if Les Gothiqies Amienois can find a way to win the Super Cup, then we will have had four different winners for the first time ever. This shows the strength in depth in our league particularly since Scammonden and Cardiff aren't bad teams and usually do ok in Europe.

That said, perhaps normal service will be resumed and Stephen will win everything next season!

You guys are all total stars, it's great to have you all here to play against. May we continue to push each other to higher standards. Good luck in the transfer market!

Pretty sure Les Gothiques won't be able to win the Super Cup as it will be between Canvey and Seaburn won't it?

But I take your overall point - the future is bright and if not orange, then at least a satsuma.
