Season 32 blog (76)
Well, Season 32 is upon us. May I be the first to post an emoticon to mark this fact:
Good luck everyone and welcome to the promoted sides.
Welcome back Cardiff and Exeter!
Have cleared out my squad over the summer so not expecting to do quite as well as last season. Fingers crossed we'll still be good enough to avoid relegation!
Good luck everyone.
Looking forwrd to the new season, quite a few changes to the squad, trying to build an all English team.
Might have to purchase a couple non-English players due to missing out on the fantastic transfer lottery system.
Also very pleased and surprised to be competing in Europe, hopefully will do England proud.
Good luck everyone,
welcome to those teams promoted, and best of luck to those teams representing us in Europe this season.
Hopefully my team of pensioners can survive again this season
Cheers
Deca
To be honest I'm not really looking forward to this season, I'm fearing the worse I think it's time we go down again, I did get some younger players in but don't think there quite ready yet, and 1 or 2 of the purchases were bad calls, got the same barely functional strike force, a weaker midfield and a much weaker defence, and seeing the price you been trying to sell your players for Samuel i think I sold tim parkman for stupidly low amount, and it's gonna bite me in the rear, if we not relegated this season I be surprised, might even manage to pull of Kesvick's trick and finish dead last.. Yet to achieve that feat but someone has too..
Anyways expect my activity to drop as the season progresses as i'm a soar loser more rants to follow..
good luck everyone
Natsumi Out.
@Natsumi my players did not sell for the amounts I would like, they are selling a lot under market value.
A couple players sold really well due to the fact the other managers really wanted them.
I think you have a good team that will do surprisingly well this season.
I had a bad transfer windows. Missed two great calls and I am stupid in that way. Now I have marginally improvement of the team but got a lot of extra players to dump.
I was not complaining i have done better than expected, at the time of writing the bids were under value it was only until the last half hour of each transfer that the prices went up.
Some of those players were on the market a few days ago for market value and no one bid? The closer the end to the transfer windows managers are paying more to get their player.
That being said the prices I have paid for players is more than most due to me wanting just English players. I have seen many many players that would of cost nearly 50% less.
I am very lucky to have this team and I am not complaining.
Good luck to all but especially those in Sherwood Forest, as we now looking like a division 1 team (only just) the Merry men of Nottingham will be meeting in the Trent Bridge Inn instead of the training ground!!
Be merry enjoy the games and try not rant to much (Natsumi)
:thumbsup_tone3::beers:
Apologizes feels like me talking about transfers caused some trouble, wasn't my intention, was just having 1 of my usual rants... my team still has 50m i'm tempted to run away with it and go into hiding
wooohoo last place and automatic relegation here I come!
A very busy transfer market for Strood City as 22 players leave and 22 players sign.
A full English team should be complete in a few seasons due to not finding any first team English strikers, there are 3 English youngsters who will make the first team but not for at least a season or two.
Also it has been very hard to find a new GK to take over from our current number 1, we will have to see at the end of the season who is available.
So the team looks ready and we are hoping for a great season.
The first match against Nilehorses United was a complete disaster, losing 1-0 at home despite dominating throughout. The only goal coming from our very own CB in the 84th minute.
Second game away to Cardiff went more to plan with a fine 2-0 victory with two amazing debuts from Nut (2 assists) and Safin (2 goals).
Next up in the league is a home game against Bolt on Wonderbras, where we want a much better performance than our last home game.
I think you are right @Dragontao, GK is a big problem, I do have youth players coming through for the other positions to take over from the first team players in a few seasons.
I would love to have an all English team do well in this league but it may be too much, I already brought in two non-English as there were no other options.
