So the season gets under way with some exciting times ahead, the new tactics could play a huge factor in shaking the league up as managers now have more input over results compared to the usual who has the best players.

I predict both the Hoodies and the newly named Beverlonia will be fighting for promtion once again However the league seems to be getting tighter and tighter!

Hoodies kicked off the season with an exciting away game that saw 6 goals. The Hoodies are once again looking to play an attractive attacking style football... unfortunatly at the cost of the defence.

A good start to the season for Beverlonia with a 1-0 home win.

After 6 or so seasons in League 3, collie club returned to league 2. And for 82 mins there return looked to be doing OK. 2 goals in the last 8 mins means they start there season with a home defeat. And the manager now wondering if he's made a big mistake bringing in promising youngsters, instead of reinforcing the 1St team.....

Mornings all, gosh I haven't been on any forum in a long time... after conceding 3 goals in the first game, the Hoodies keeper pleaded to the rest of the lads to keep it tight in front of him, knowing there was a keeper on his way to Sherwood Forest to fight for a place as well as a loan keeper.

The transfer activity had its desired effect with an excellent defensive performance to give the home crowd something to be proud of with. The defense was that tight Collie Club did not manage to get a shot off.

afterwards Cloughie spoke about his opposite number stating .....
"he's got to know his stuff as those men were well drilled, for a team to come up from league 3 and hold us at bay until the last minute of the first half. I take my hat off to him."

The transfer window is over, and despite the slow start, Cambridge decided against adding to their team.

The decision seems to have paid off, with Cambridge players remembering how to play football, winning 3-1 against Tranby Park. Still no clean sheets, but at least the strikers are off the mark!

In what was never going to be an easy match, against cloughies hoodies.

New match engine tactics were used for the 1st time by collie club. Managing to keep the score down was a big bonus, but not having a single shot on target, means lots of work to do!

Cambridge invited one of the League favourites Bervelonia FC to Wilberforce Road, not expecting top achieve much.

After conceding an early goal, Cambridge were left fearing the worst. However, they managed to grab an equaliser, making it 1-1 at half time.

It was here that the manager came up with a cunning plan, making several tactical changes, and giving a rousing team talk - Cambridge were ahead within a three minutes of the restart. As Beverlonia went for an equaliser late in the game, Cambridge were able to grab a third goal to secure the win.

2 wins and a draw from the first four games makes this one of the best starts Cambridge have had to a League 2 season - will their fifth season in League 2 be their last?

The Hoodies have proved the book makers correct by going top of the league, for the first time this season.

In other news the bookies have Kensington odds on to finish in the top half with them only conceding 4 goals. Although currently in the bottom part of the table a strong striker in the January transfer window could see their fortunes change

Hoodies first defeat of the season was the worst in its history a crazy game full of goals!

Cloughie was furious after the game stating both the defence and keeper need to take a long hard look at themselves and " if these young men play like that again they'll be getting a clip round the ear and I'll be looking to the transfers market "
