Another season is upon us. Post your hopes, your dreams, your fears and your hilarious witticisms here :)

Good luck to all and a warm welcome to first time League 1-er, Antboy, the reigning champions of League 2 and, also to Chelsea and Exeter who came up via the playoffs.

The Bridesmaids will be hoping to chalk up another runners-up bouquet and accompanying jewellery in the forthcoming supercup. :)
Can anyone actually beat Liverpool at all this season? I'm not optimistic of my chances!

And England is down to 5 levels.

Seems like I promoted for nothing.

I've been waiting for this to happen for a couple of seasons now. It's better that new players play against other humans, I think. However, it'd be nice to see the game attracting new players...

It may just be alphabetical order but... my Cambridge team are top of League 1! Who knows... maybe with a bit of luck, we'll still be there at the end of the season!

Good luck everyone (and congrats Chelsea and Exeter for making it through the play-offs)

@Andrei it will help your attendances and sponsor money. I'm sure you will win more than you lose, too.

I'd be delighted with another mid-table finish. My new goalie should help but my good youngsters need more time (except Jenkins who is now an NT player!).

Kezza's strong youths will challenge for the title in a few seasons but I think Liverpool City will dominate until then (sorry Stephen).

Oh, I know my balance will be helped a lot. But it kinda sucks to see yourself only one level off the bottom after working for two promotions and getting them.

No need to apologise. The Bridesmaids are very clear about their role for the season: have too much to drink, throwing up in the Cup in a very real sense and waking up in Cloughie's hotel room. If I can finish second again, I'll be absolutely delighted! I'm really looking forward to my first CL experience. I fear it might be a short one though!

Cambridge City kicked off their first season in League 1 with a 2-2 draw against Lancashire. Manager antboy18 said

"A point away from home is much more than we'd ever wished for in our first game - especially after the early red card. We definitely got a bit lucky but I'm not complaining - lets try to build on this result in our next match."

In other news, Cambridge City have announced that Ramage and Motter will be leaving the club. The pair have been key players for the club, coming through the youth academy when Cambridge were still in League 4, and have a combined total of over 750 appearances.

"The club never would have made it to where we are today without them, and it will be a shame to see them leave. But now that we've reached League 1, and half the youth team are better footballers, it's the right time to let them leave."

Next up... 10 time League champions Strood City. Last time the sides met, Cambridge knocked Strood City out the cup. Fingers crossed Cambridge will be able to get another upset!

The Spirit Squad got there season going with a 1-0 home win against Exeter FC the match was of poor quality with few chances at either end, the hosts took the lead early with a 3rd minute goal from Kostadinov, and later missed a penalty, after the missed penalty the game seemed to lose momentum with neither side creating much, the 1-0 lead looked safe all game and aside from a late fury of corners Natsumi's team looked comfortable. But 1-0 at home to one of the sides fresh from promotion is no reason to celebrate and the squad's lack of strength in delph was showcased as they failed to put the game to bed and substitutes made little impact.

Defender William Yashodhar shinned in the unfamiliar role of LB, with the club replacing ageing defender Tino Ronkainen for there record breaking signing of Chris Marke who got a 45 minute run out at RB, the youngstar failed to impress and some are already questioning Natsumi's decision to splash 70 million on untested player. Donu Gebre was awarded the man of the match reward, despite his performance and above average performance in the midfield where large partition of this match was contested many fan's still believe Natsumi need's to buy another Midfielder before the transfer window slams shut.

The pop princess was not available for questioning post match and instead sent the assistant who acknowledged the sub par performance with the following statement.

'We still getting our fitness right many players were away on international Duty and we've not had much time to train together as a team, we happy with the result and understand the fans frustration this was a match we should of won comfortably but it does not always happen like that on the day and a win even a poorly contested one is still a win and a step closer to our goals'
