Season 62 (100)
Looks like England have a real chance of getting to 2nd in the league rankings and bagging an extra place in Europe - I can't help but good luck to those good enough to make it happen!
I'm still all-too-patiently saving for Stadium 11 - one more season...
Nasty draws in the second qualifying round for Euro league - very tough for Mostly Unmanaged and I've got the best unseeded team to face. Can't come up with a setup that works on the test runs for the away leg, so little bit of trusting to luck...
After a very easy draw in the first qualifier, second definitely tough. 2-1 home defeat in the first leg. 2nd leg very tricky now.
Don't worry Dragontao, that first tie win of yours helped to boost the rankings. A good win for Jaypridee against Dutch oppposition.
I had a half season off where I sulked about bugs in the game. The break did me good and I'm raring to go again. That said, Seaburn are too strong to catch and Jaypridee & Cardiff's facilities are really starting to reap benefits. I've stregthened again and should be ok for a top 5 finish. My poor showing in the group stages has meant I've dropped out of the top 50 in Europe. Again I won't benefit from the qualifying rounds but that's fine, I'm happy to see the English league rise up the rankings. Let's hope for a good season in Europe, with a slice of luck and we might break into the top 5. Good luck all,
Monk
I could only afford to bring in 1 new player, so will struggle to repeat last season's top 10 finish.
I'm also in a race against time to stop my youth academy from being downgraded due to a negative bank balance - I should be fine as I've sold a few U21 players but my financial situation will seriously impact what I can do during the mid-season window.
On your facilities page it says your YA1 is being downgraded. Can you still stop that? With stadium 11, TC10 & YA 11 you should be ok financially, I reckon, or am I missing something?
I went back into the black today, so have cancelled the downgrade - I will go back into the red again in a day or so, so the downgrade might begin again but I'll be able to stop it once my balance improves.
Thanks Lee, that's really interesting to know. I had no idea.
I'm going to make sure I keep out of the red.
I think (but I might be wrong on this) that you only need to worry about being in the red at the end of each season. Probably a good strategy to never be in the red at any point though.
3 Chumpions League spots available to us this season. 2 of those are straight into the group stage! Also 3 more spots for the Europa League. Well done chaps for earning those. Onwards and upwards!
Stephen's correct. It says this in the Help:
- If at the start of a season your team has a negative balance, the board can decide to downgrade one or more of your facilities. When this happens you will get a 14 day period in which you can get a positive balance again and cancel the downgrades.
Not sure exactly what day counts as the start of the season as it may differ with each league. But clearly it only happens once per season.
In my view the most sensible approach is to aim for $1 billion to generate maximum interest and then treat that as your red line.
Continuing with the finances, as of today the total capital held by English clubs is £ 27 351 291 901 (GBP), and there are 146 clubs with stadiums.
So on average each club with a stadium has a bank balance of £187.3 million.
If we apply an arbitrary 90/10 rule, where 90% of the wealth is held by only 10% of the clubs, which would be mostly in league 1 and 2, then that gives us 15 clubs sharing an average of £1,641.1 million each.
So someone and probably a few clubs are sitting on a very big pile indeed...
I've got £13.3 million of that, which amounts to 0.06% of the loot,so not guilty your honour.
Note to self, must introduce myself to the concept of saving money.
I have 180M of it, but I lose 12M a week (without stadium income), so I'll have a lot less by the end of the season....
On a league note, we all seem to be doing our best to hand Seaburn an earliest ever title, even with Addo injured.
I have a lot of money (still way less than 5% of that figure Numpty posted) but even with such riches I refuse to heal Addo. The cost has more than halved to around £10m now, but that's an outrageous cost when I lose £15m a day. I *might* heal him for the big one away at Melchester, but I'm loathe to do so.
