Lost Keys United journal - [Season 2] (17)
Lost Keys United (LKU, or The Keys) is a team with its home base in Leiden, the Netherlands. At this topic, we will keep you informed about the results of the team.

After the last games of the previous season, all players needed some rest. The disappointment of missing the title was big.
SC Dokkum - Lost Keys United : 2-1
With some enhancements, The Keys travelled to Dokkum. One of theme, Abdelkader Bellahem, opened the score after only 7 minutes.
But it was Dokkum that dictated the game. Lost Keys United was just lucky to still have the lead halfway. But Dokkum kept pushing and Vinnie Affleck lead them to victory by scoring twice. The Keys went home disappointed again...
SC Dokkum - Lost Keys United : 2-1
With some enhancements, The Keys travelled to Dokkum. One of theme, Abdelkader Bellahem, opened the score after only 7 minutes.
But it was Dokkum that dictated the game. Lost Keys United was just lucky to still have the lead halfway. But Dokkum kept pushing and Vinnie Affleck lead them to victory by scoring twice. The Keys went home disappointed again...
Lost Keys United - FC Ede : 2-0
After a easy 2-0 victory, you should not complain. Bellahem scored early at the first half and Uijtrecht doubled the score at the second half. So far so good. Ede did nothing in return expect one lousy shot on goal.
But still, there where two yellow cards, and with such a surplus of quality, 3 or 4 goals would have been nice. :)

Alphen City FC - Lost Keys United : 1-3
The Keys went to the nearby Alphen to face the local FC. The rivalry between the clubs big, and Alphen City FC was realy eager to beat us.
Fortunately, we startered well with a quick goal of Uijtrecht, just after 4 minutes of play. Alphen striked back with a nice counter and the score was evan after another 7 minutes.
After that, The Keys had the better changes and Waelkens finished the second assist of Anand perfectly. After that Lost Keys United had control, but it seamed that they where okay with the score.
After the brake, another wonderfull assist of Anand was capitalized by Waelkens. Alphen tried to change the outcome of the game, but Leiden didn't make (big) mistakes. After 90 minutes of play, Leiden took 3 point, and 3 nice goals home.

Lost Keys United - SC Gilze en Rijen : 3-1
Not Lost Keys United, but the squad form Gilze en Rijen had a furious start, and opened the score after a tackle of Solberg, which was rewarded with a penalty.
After that, it was the home team who dominated. Bellahem showed his enormous talent again, by scoring twice the first half. The second half brought 7 extra attempts, of only one was capitalized, by Waelkens.
The efficiency of the attackers could have been better, and the awareness of the defence was not optimal, but no worries so far. For the future, the team should be more focused, especially against the weaker opponents. Otherwise points will be spoiled...

Astar - Lost Keys United : 0-2
It was a one way show for The Keys today. They dominated the game the full 90 minutes. That only two attempts were converted is probably a mix of luck and good defending from Astar.
Astar gave away 5 corners, 5 free kicks and 9 throw-ins. Furthermore they get 2 yellows. So far this was the best game of Lost Key United. The question is: is the level of play good enough to take away a point (or more) tomorrow against the strong Cambuur? We will see.

Although the score suggests a close match it was not. The first half was a one side show of Cambuur. Sure, NT goaly Wiersma kept the clean sheet. But that was the only good thing voor The Keys.
The second half, Cambuur but some extra pressure on the match and that resulted in two well deserved goals. Abdelkader Bellahem did something in return, but it was too little, and way too late...

It was Leiden time this match. With two times Bellahem and Uijtrecht and one time Waelkens it was Lost Keys that dominated the match, en gave the fans what they deserved: a good game of football.

Lost Keys United - Invincible Delft : 2-0
The strong formation of Delft spoiled the championchip for Lost Keys last year. This match it looked like history was trying to repeat itself the first half. De visitors where dominating, and far better changes.
The second half was close one, until Bellahem showed is individual talent, opening the score. From that moment on, The Keys where the domination team. This resulted in a lot extra changes of which one was converted, again by Bellahem. The Moroccan international was the man of the match.

Onderste Boven FC - Lost Keys United : 0-0 (0-3)
The first Dutch Cup encounter was a bad one from Leiden point of view. Against the number 9 of the fourth division the Keys failed to score one single goal in regular time. They didn't create much (or good) changes, and the defence of Onderste Boven FC did a good job.
In extra time, Onderste Boven FC defended well, and although The Keys finally showed to be the better team, they still did not score.
All came down to the penalty shootout. It was a combination of an outstanding Wiersma, blocking both shots from Onderste Boven FC, and an hundred percent score of the Lost Keys penalty takers.

Not that much to say about yesterdays match. FC Knudde was slight better during the first 30 minutes, resulting in a goal. Overall The Keys where maybe a bit beter, but you have to score to win, and they failed.

Lost Keys United - Delft Blue Something : 7-0 (Cup)
It was a big Lost Keys United show today at the Dutch Cup. Twice Bellahem and Uijtrecht, and once Waelkens, Anand and Sarde. The fans where shouting ten ten ten! But that was a bit too much. Delft Blue Something had literally noting in return. Not even on shot on target. The next round at the cup was an easy one.

FC Beawulf - Lost Keys United : 2-2
It was a close match with better play for the reining champion FC Beawulf. The home team took a royal two point lead and The Keys didn't had a clear answer.
Due to individual skills of Anand and Waelkens at the end the score was even. Letting the home team and its fans a bit confused and disappointed.
Due to the draw, Cambuur took even a firmer lead, but both Beawulf and Lost Keys United still have changes. We will see what happens.

It's always nice to have a clear win. So the fans where euphoric after the last game. Five goals from The Keys, and a astonishing 26 shots on target. The score could even have been better!
SC Houtsnippers did not that much in return. The equalised at the 11th minute, but after that, it was a one way show. New Swedish star Ulf Andersson showed his skill. With one assist and a nice goal. That a nice way of making an entrance!
After a nice 4-1 half time, they slowed down a bit, but never lost control. The gab with Cambuur is big, but there is still believe that The Keys can be this years champion!

It was not the best game of Lost Keys United ever. That's for sure. Blijdorp converted it's first shot on target taking the lead against all odds. The odds kept at Leiden side.
The Keys tried hard but only one of there 17 shots passed the Blijdorp keeper. A poor result therefore.
