National Team (69)
Hi, we will start on saturday the qualification.
We are now ranked as 79th.
About our opponents:
Italy and Netherlands are the favourites in our group.
For the (possibly) second playoff-spot can we go with Scotland.
Azerbaijan could be a tricky one, and the Faroe Islands will probably take the sixth place in this group.
The first game we can take the first step on home field against Scotland.
Gameday 1: Ukraine won on home soil against Scotland
Ukraine - Scotland 3:1 (2:0)
Ukraine: Kebin - Kandalov, Dolgonosov, Chernisov, Beketov, Spitsyn - Litchko, Kouklev, Gromyko (Raskolnikov) - Swavalov, Motorny.
UKR-Goals: Motorny (14'), Kouklev (28'), Swavalov (75').
At home field we wanted to take a good start against a good opponent. After corners from the opponent we made a succesful counter: Gromyko passed to Motorny, who stayed alone against the keeper, no defenders there, 1:0. Happened in the 14th Minute.
13 Mins later Litchko earnt a free kick for us, which hitted Kouklev into the net, we were up to 2:0.
Today we worked well also in the defence. Kebin took more shots from the scotch attackers. The away team was also able to block if we had our chances, the HT-score was 2:0.
The second half started with a goal from Scotland, they were only down by 2:1.
We needed to defence more, they got a lot of corners, but we had also the possibilities to make the 3:1.
In the 75th minute we decided the game. The second striker, Swavalov scored after the pass of Kouklev.
Both sides had some chances in the last 15 Minutes, but nothing changed: Ukraine won against Scotland. Important win, against a direct concurrent in our group.
Next game will be against Italy.
G2: One point from Italy!
Italy - Ukraine 1:1 (1:1)
Ukraine: Kebin - Kandalov, Dolgonosov, Chernisov, Spitysn, Beketov - Litchko, Raskolnikov (Bazylev), Kouklev - Motorny, Swavalov.
Goal: Swavalov (1').
After the win on the first gameday, now we were absolute underdogs against a very strong Italy.
Kouklev made the kick-off and already in the first offense scored Swavalov from his assist! 0:1!
Than after chances from both sides, Italy equalised already in the 21st minute. They focused their game into the middle, but in this situation moved Tuomino on the right side, and gave a good pass for the striker. Our defenders and Kebin weren't also able to avoid that goal.
Nobody tought that it would be the last goal in this game.
In the second half Kebin saved the italian shots, while we weren't really dangerous in the second 45 minutes.
We caught a very important point from a very strong opponent.
Our next opponent will be Azerbaijan at home next week.
Great result. And perfect match reports. Keep it up!)))
G3: Not too effective, but clear win against Azerbaijan
Ukraine - Azerbaijan 3:1 (2:1)
Ukraine: Kebin - Kandalov, Dolgonosov, Chernisov, Beketov, Spitsyn - Litchko, Kouklev, Gromyko (Raskolnikov) - Dolgoborodov (Swavalov), Motorny.
Goals: Kouklev (12'), Dolgoborodov (26'), Motorny (77').
Against Azerbaijan we had good chances to take the 3 points. And after the another game, where Scotland won against The Netherlands, was also important to avoid any mistake.
Dolgoborodov is one of a striker for the future, today he got a place in the starting-11 this time, while Swavalov got only one half this time.
From the beginning we took the game in our hands, only one chance from Azerbaijan, while we tried already 4 times. But than Litchko got a freekick on the azeri-midfielder, and our set pieces specialist Kouklev didn't hesitated: his racket flown into the net, 1:0.
Azerbaijan equalised in the next minute, it was very quick!
In the 24th minute had our guests their last chance in the game, we did much better performance, and thank to our debutant, Yevgeni Dolgoborodov we up again after 26 minutes by 2:1. Pasha after his goal gave an assist for our young striker.
After that only intercepted or missed shots till the halftime, where we lead by 2:1.
For the second half we made one change, Swavalov replaced Dolgoborodov. We still dominated the game, the azeries needed to defence, while in the offense not able to have even one chance. We just waited for the next goal.
Raskolnikov also entered the field instead of Gromyko. At the 77th minute Kouklev gave his second assist on the game, this time Motorny scored! 3:1! We won this game, and could also give a chance for our youngster, where he could also score a goal!
We started good into the qualification tournament: two wins at home against Scotland and Azerbaijan (3:1 each) and a draw against in Italy (1:1). We have 7 points, and we are on the second place:
1. Italy 7 points (7:2 goals), 2. Ukraine 7 pts (7:3), 3. The Netherlands 6 pts (5:2), 4. Scotland 6 pts (6:4), 5. Faroe Islands 0 pt (2:9), 6. Azerbaijan 0 pt (1:8).
Our next game on sunday 14.02.2021:
The Netherlands - Ukraine
No chance against The Netherlands
The Netherlands - Ukraine 2:0 (2:0)
Ukraine: Kebin - Chernisov, Kandalov, Dolgonosov, Spitsyn, Beketov - Litchko, Kouklev, Raskolnikov - Dolgoborodov (Motorny), Swavalov.
We visited at the best team in our group.
Ukraine started very slow into the game. Albertse scored two times after the kick-off: in the first and in the third minute. Extreme good start for the home team, after three minutes stand already 2:0.
After this The Netherlands were better in offense, while we weren't able to create too much chances in this game.
We had no chance for a surprise against the powerhouse Netherlands, but we don't got a high defeat against them.
Other results:
Azerbaijan - Faroe Isl. 0:2
Italy- Scotland 1:1
1. Netherlands 9 pts (7:2), 2. Italy 8 pts (8:3), 3. Ukraine and Scotland 7 pts (7:5), 5. Faroe Isl. 3 pts (4:9), 6. Azerbaijan 0 pt (1:10)
You manage the national team very well, I think he is the strongest coach in the history of the national team.
I hope you will stay for a long time as the head coach of the national team.
Thank you for the kind words my friend, paspartu!
My club is developing here, so I'm going to stay, also at the national team, otherwise someone else has better ideas than me
I'm going to write an update in this weekend about the NT (the players, games, and the next fixtures) and also a bit about the league, my training "plans" or "ideas" I prefer to send private to the managers.
So as I promised I write first about our league:
Currently are in the 1st division 8 active teams.
MFC Nikolaev and FC Batyovo are the most improved teams in the league, training grounds and youth centrum are on high level (13,13 and 12, 12) and using also 2 personals.
My team is at the beginning of the way, but I think we are developing quickly. The team is based in old and ukrainian players.
Tiras made already more upgrades than me, they are in good way, I see potential in this team in the future.
Knicks has already youth centrum 11, Dynamo is building it right now. Dynamo has already training grounds 11. At both teams would be useful to put 2 personal into youth or training grounds. But rather into youth, the national team is quite lack of young and talented players.
Kiev4 is currently at 10/10 (training complex and youth center) the stadium is still at 14.000 as I see not really interested on developing the team.
The same is for Chernivtsi, who are getting inactive.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nikolaev and Batyovo are currently the top teams, Nikolaev bought many strong players and will get the championship this season (Cup won already). Other teams are not able to get point(s) against this 2 teams, the difference is very big.
Batyovo's position is also safe.
Buying old players, but still with many home players. Prykarpattya is at 3rd place. We focus mainly on stadium, training grounds without youth centrum, when I get better level on training grounds and higher lvl Office, I will put there 2 personal. Try to take in the future also ukrainian players on loan, even talented than this time, to get the training points, and next season maybe also for Europa League they can get experience.
The other active teams are almost at the same level, Tiras is -12 points behind Prykarpattya at the 5th place. Would be good if we would have more competitive teams in this league.
Next season Nikolaev plays in Champions League if they win their games, Batyovo will be in Europa League, and currently Prykarpattya will be third.
We won't be able to get coeff points there, Batyovo can be able to qualify from the second round. Nikolaev will start in the first Champs League round. It would be very important to get at least the second round. I think this team would be one of the best in that phase of that tournament.
And second about the NT.
I'm planning to stay here, my club is developing, and the ukrainian national team is also not bad.
The focus is only on the qualification-games, so I play with "2 teams". Yes, I lost most of the friendly games, but these are not important.
The squad:
The team is based on players with age 30 or more. We have 2 U21-players they are able to be the future. The teams from Barankin (MID) and Dolgoborodov (ST) have both 14 training grounds, 2 personal.
As soon as I see a young player on the list with promising future, I will take him into the national team.
For Nikolaev and Batyovo I wrote already about the players, who can play in the future for the national team, but these players are very young right now.
The qualification tournament:
This group is quite tricky. We started with an important win against Scotland, took a point in Italy, won against Azerbaijan and lost at The Netherlands.
But Scotland made also surprises by winning against the dutch team and were also able to get one point from Italy.
Italy lost totally 4 points against Scotland and Ukraine, won against Azerbaijan and Faroe Isl, they are going to face the dutch team two times.
For us will be the next 2 fixtures very important. Visiting Faroe Isl and Scotland not gonna be easy, away games are always tricky.
Maybe we can have some advantage than facing Italy, and The Netherlands at home field. The visit in Azerbaijan needed to be a must win category.
Everything is possible, I think The Netherlands will the first, but from second to fourth place everything is possible. As I told for us, the next 2 fixtures can be decisive. We would need to take at least 3 points from this 2 games. Faroe Isl are a young team, Scotland on home field can be also difficult.
Our goal is to qualify into the next phase, but also taking a look on young players, if someone new is available. The team is getting really old. Especially we are lack of goalkeepers.
And would be nice to read about your opinions too, about league or national team.
Feel free also to contact me in pm.
Украина, вперед!
=================================================
Hello, I totally agree with alcorcon91.
I will add on my own behalf, MFC Nikolaev helps and will help the national team in every possible way.
I have only one request to other teams, at least to complete the construction of the youth center at level 12.
I was a bit afraid about this game , but +3.
Good job from Gidzenko, and especially from Kebin and Kouklev.
G5: Kebin's 10 means 3 points for Ukraine!
The faroese players were not able to score into Kebin's net, who got 10 points, and Ukraine took the 3 points against a well-performed Faroe Islands.
Faroe Islands - Ukraine 0:2 (0:2)
Ukraine: Kebin - Ilyukhin, Kandalov, Dolgonosov, Gidzenko, Beketov - Anjukov, Barankin, Kouklev - Motorny, Swavalov
Goals: Kouklev (23'), Swavalov (43')
We changed in some positions since the last game where we lost against The Netherlands. Ilyukhin, Gidzenko in the defense, and Barankin, our another talent for the future started in the game.
Faroe Islands were underdogs, but I was a bit afraid about this game against this young faroese team.
FAR started into the game with good chances, but Yaro saved more times at the start. We had than also our possibilities, these were blocked by the defenders, mostly by Aaen.
After his second block in the 21st minute, we got a corner kick. Pasha got fit for this game, and if he was there, he passed to Gidzenko, who gave an assist for him, and we took the lead, 0:1!
The game got balanced after our goal, Kebin saved the tries from the hosts, but the home keeper was also asked for some saves.
Close to Halftime, Kouklev made a good sprint on the left side, delivered to Swavalov and we were up by 2:0!
In the second half the teams weren't able to score, mostly thank to Kebin, who finished the game with 11 saves and 10 points. Man of the match!
While our chances were deflected by the faroese defenders. Our opponent fought very well, but the 3 points gone to Ukraine!
We are in the halftime of the Q-tournament. This group is the most balanced from all the groups.
4 teams are still able to get the first position, 3 teams with 10 and 1 team with 9 points.
Other results:
Italy - The Netherlands 1:1
Scotland - Azerbaijan 4:0
Standings: 1. Scotland 10 pts (11:5 goals), 2. The Netherlands 10 pts (8:3), 3. Ukraine 10 pts (9:5), 4. Italy 9 pts (9:4), 5. Faroe Isl 3 pts (4:11), 6. Azerbaijan 0 pt (1:14)
Next game will be very important against Scotland (away), on the first we won 3:1 against them.
Yesterday, I started to contact managers around the world, who would be up to train ukrainian youth players, with high youth center level.
Right now, I got some positive responses, but I will give an update in the next days.
I guess tomorrow I will see the new list of the national players too.
