Club Report - Kendal Town S10 (1)
Introducing a new manager at the start of the season has reaped early rewards for Kendal Town. VBlue has led Town to the top of the table, including three league wins, in an almost unblemished start to his tenure, their only defeat coming in a penalty shootout in Round 2 of the Cup.
Pre-season performances and results indicated that investment was needed in the quality of the squad. However, with much of the club’s finances funding developments in the infrastructure there was little money available to purchase players with. VBlue instead has installed three young loanees to form the spine of the squad for the coming season.
Sean Bray, Colne youth prospect, scored 15 goals from centre back in the League of Wales on loan last season to champions YNWA Lapland. He has two goals from four appearances already this season. After a difficult debut season for the decorated Internazionale, Aaron Huertas Barrantas scored 22 goals for fuubarca in the 5th tier of English football. To complete the triumvate, Scammonden Daoists' midfielder Humphrey Crose joins Town after his parent club’s promotion from the 3rd tier through the playoffs. Man of the Match performances and assists have proved him also a shrewd loan thus far.
With Dino Masolino also joining to fill a weakened left-side of defence and good support from other top performer Heath Gigg in midfield, Town will be demanding a strong promotion challenge from their new manager. VBlue said ‘We are working tremendously well in training and bringing that to matchdays. The club has a lot of potential that we are already on our way to realising some of this season. Goals are coming in our home games with nine in three and we have three wins on the bounce to build on.’
