Season 40 (76)

Yeah - we're positive, we're just very dull this season. Defensively tight and not too keen on scoring.

Can't see anyone on negative GD until 12th place which makes sense.

Bakerman, this is Rocking Soccer. Sense doesn't necessarily come into it.

Definitely spoke about my winning streak too early - lost the next three games (despite out shooting my opponents in all of them)

Maybe my complaints will convince it to throw me a few more good results...

Forgot to set my formation and got hammered 5-3 in the first leg of my EL game. Thankfully, cheating’s Andrew Hundley won a penalty and scored a goal in a 3-0 second leg win. Onwards to the next round...

Well done Stephen :-)

So I'm 3rd (though will face a struggle to stay there, as a fotunate run of results got me there from mid-table) and as close to 17th as to 2nd right now - fair to say it's a 2-horse race for the title!

The Two Man Team Strikes again, Tomaz Polnick and Er Cantona pretty sure I'd be relegated by now without them, our aging defence and goalie haven't looked solid at all this season but the left wing wins us another three points leaving spirit squad despite horrible start to the campagin in a nice and healthy spot.

Celebratory scenes at the Old Tram Shelter earlier today when Seaburn Beach advanced to the EL semi-finals for only the second time in their history - the first being in season 30. The match was another tight affair with the tie being settled in the 70th minute, when Emana passed to Alloul and he fired past the keeper to take Seaburn to a narrow 1-0 aggregate win.

Whether any of this will be enough to stop us tumbling down the league rankings and losing European qualifying spots remains to be seen.

Congrats Stephen and good luck in the next round - hopefully you'll be able to keep up your league form even with the challenges of European football

Blimey 31 shots on goal to 11 and Winchester’s goalkeeper man of the match. laughing

Not sure about me staying up this season

A difficult 8 hours for Seaburn, last night. Despite a positive performance against Liverpool, we came away with a 2-1 defeat. Then we lost 2-1 in the EL semi (will the away goal matter?) and my tired team then struggled to a 1-1 draw and a penalty shootout win in the Cup final. There’s a lot of tired looking players in my team and it’s unclear whether this is down to the matches or the celebrations.

To quote Stevie G, we go again and we don’t ****ing let this slip. I imagine that I’ll be watching The Footballing Dead’s version of Demba Ba racing through on goal later today, then...

Well we don't have a Demba Ba, more like a dumber and dumberer.

Couldn't even score when your sub keeper went off injured on 50 minutes and was replaced with a 2.76 blocking defender in goal. Miod you, the 3 forwards (4 if you include the sub) m anaged to attempt the grand total of 4 shots - only 1 of them while your defender was in goal.

At only 1-0 up, I felt physically sick when my GK went off. Even getting the second very shortly after that didn’t help me relax. All this has basically made me realise that I couldn’t do this for real. It’s too flipping stressful!
