Mid Table Natsumi's Army lost the opening game to hot favorites Deeprijay Town. The only goal at Hamlin Lane came in the first half, after some poor defending from the visitors, a good display from there keeper kept them in the match and kept the scoreline respectable but the two teams looked miles apart in terms of class and ability, the lackluster performance will not go down well with the fans, and bizarrely the pop princess Natsumi Miyamoto failed to attend the post match interview.

The young manageress sent her assist Winter instead, and was caught on camera looking quite distracted during the match playing with her phone, its possible with the transfer window coming to a close Natsumi was looking to tie up some last minute deals to further strengthen the side.

All four of the new signings featured in the opening game, with none of them really impressing and midfielder Miguel Píriz possibly lucky to stay on the field after a terrible challenge saw him yellow carded. One pundit described them as ill disciplined, out matched and easily beaten was is this 1-0 opening game a sign of things to come, or should the side take heart they only narrowly lost away to firm favorites to win the league this year.

On the opening day of the season fans were optimistic around Sherwood Forest, however poor defening alowed von Wilpert to put the ball on a plate for Colombieres, in a quit first half this was the only moment of note. however the second half started brightley with the Hoodies on the front foot. It took just 10 minutes for Shearer to break the deadlock after a diguised pass from Bradshaw put him through.

The Hoodies showed signs of their quality, but after Bradshaw squandered the 1-on-1 opportunity presented to him Yorkshire Boys broke with speed and precision to devestating effect as Colombieres registered his second.

The rest of the game became a cagey affair with the Hoodies looking for an equaliser and the Yorkshire boys defending with confidence, the game seemed to dwindle away.

The Nottingham Evening Post reported Cloughie as saying "It's going to be hard for me to face my neighbours ...living here [Yorkshire] but supporting and being born 'n' bred Hoodies (Nottingham) I'm sure i'll get a ribbing down the local"

Result - 2-1 to the Yorkshire Boys
Man of the match - Jason Neate (CM Yorkshire Boys)
