Lost Keys United journal - [Season 1] (8)
Lost Keys United (LKU, or The Keys) is a team with its home base in Leiden, the Netherlands. At this topic, we will keep you informed about the results of the team.
The Keys started the first season with ambition and a talented team to do the job. During the season, The position fluctuated between first and fourth, and since half way the season, only the first two positions where ours.
Unfortunately, after Lost Keys United-FC Beawulf last Sunday, the title is a bit further away. So what went wrong?
Montrosier opened the score for the visitors after only 3 minutes, winning the air duel. The Keys tried to change the tables, but without any result. None of the 11 tries resulted in a goal. The injured Uijtrecht was missed, and neigther Waelkens nor Kiymetli where able to compensate for him.
Unfortunately, after Lost Keys United-FC Beawulf last Sunday, the title is a bit further away. So what went wrong?

Invincible Delft-Lost Keys United : 4-1
Who hoped that The Keys would be eager to show the best they can, to keep track with FC Beawulf for the championship, must have felt betrayed.
Delft overpowered us, and after only 13 minutes had a lead of two goals. Just as against FC Beawulf the corner was handled horrible, and the goals came easy.
Delft kept the pressure, and we had nothing. No good changes, no fighting spirit. Half way the score was even 4-0.
At the second half, the inexpedienced midfielder Joost Blauss get his second yellow and had to leave the field. It was an example of the frustration.
Delft was not pushing any more, luckily enough, otherwise the slaughter would be even worse. Only at the 83 minute Karpov did something noticeable for The Keys, by scoring is first goal for the team. Most fans had already left the stadium at that time...
Something had to change, otherwise, this season will end in big deception...

Lost Keys United-MSV en AV Flakkee : 2-0
It was an calculated win against the team from Hellevoetsluis. Two quick goals from Karpov after a corner and a distance shot from Waelkens gave a solid 2-0 lead after 15 minutes play.
After that, MSV didn't try to come back, and The Keys failed to push harder. They try to safe some energy to the win the other remaining matches.
A little shock filled the stadium though, at the 67th minute, when Arno Wiersma, the national goaly seemed to be injured badly. As a result of some mindless action, he is know two matches out for competition.

The previous came was a bit uninspired. They won, but that was all. Now, The Keys served the spectators well: they played attractive, and kept on pushing, almost till the end.
It was Karpov how opened the score early: after only 6 minutes he scored from a long distance when Alphen failed to defend the corner.
Waelkens scored the 2-0 at the end 3-0 in the last 5 minutes of the first halve. The Keys held pressure during the second halve and it was the young Elipandas that set the final 4-0.
After that another dazzling number of 9 shots on goal where fired, but Alphen recisted them all.
Thanks to a unlucky draw of FC Beawulf against vv Sleen, the changes of becoming champion have increased, although Beawulf has still the better changes.

A dramatic lose, just when The Keys had the opportunity to take the decisive lead, after the bad result of FC Beawulf. Alphen City FC had the better game for some time, and showed again that The Keys are weak on corners.
Maybe the return of Wiersma next game can change momentum, but for now, there is sadness and disbelief through the hole city.

The fans are angry! Again, The Keys did not take advantage against relatively weak opponents from the lost points of FC Beawulf.
Yesterday, vv Sleen had only ONE shot on target at the second minute, but is was enough to open the score. The Keys were dominant at the duals, but the field play was just not good. And the 8 changes the created, resulted only in one goal.
The title can be achieved, but only if FC Beawulf (at home) does not win today and if The Keys can win away. After the last two round the fans don't believe this will happen.
