League of United States season 55
Forum: League forum
Discuss your league, who are the favorites to win the league this season? Who will be promoted/relegated, how are you doing in the cup?
Season 54 (14)
These seasons have not strengthened the main lineup. Of course, these guys are gradually getting stronger. If you can enter the Top 4 this season, it will be the best result for me.
Something a bit off topic for the group since we haven't talked strategy in awhile.
I just got a relatively older fit player in my YA which makes me naturally think "keeper". There's a few interesting discussions on keepers, especially fit keepers, actually improving after age 47 since their age factor stops decreasing.
What do you guys think? Seems like a potential loophole to leverage, but it may become cost prohibitive. Also, how many of us will be playing the game 5-6 years from now in real life when this can be exploited?

Pucciol (age 56 - and improving because of his immense talent)

A keeper being too good - almost $1B/year in wage
That's a very interesting discussion, thanks for sharing the news, Mike! For the loophole that Pucchiol produced, maybe Vincent would fix it if he's still active, especially considering Pucchiol is playing in Netherlands League 1. For the second topic that goalkeeper's wage is insane, I don't think that's a bug, actually, I would say Vincent is designing the mechanism for purpose, so some old big clubs would bankrupt and give the new teams an opportunity to catch up with the top ones.
Update on skyrocketing wages...looks like that incredible ST goalie mentioned above got sold to the bank because he was too expensive.

It's disappointing that waiting a year plus to get a ST now may be incredibly cost prohibitive if they are too good. Another takeaway seems to be you shouldn't make these players goalies as those GK wages are higher, though I don't know exactly why.
This outcome I feel is against the spirit of the original game design, but we all know Vincent is MIA at this point so the chance for it to be corrected appears remote. He may even like this feature as some are arguing, but I personally do not.
I think the reason for goalies having insane wages is the aging factor is part of the wage formula, but for goalies they decline from 400/400 to 300/400 instead of 100/100 to 0/100.
That's just my guess, though.
And I agree, my last supertalent was 1.5 years ago, so my next player or the next after that will be a super talent. It's good information but also disappointing that he can't be a keeper.
Good luck to both contenders, in their race for the league and in their upcoming match.
I'm always happy just to have an NAL spot. I'd get murdered in the Champions League.
We'll see how the season shakes out. Riverhounds beat me in the cup final on neutral ground. Hopefully, having home field tomorrow makes the difference for the league championship.
I feel unlucky to have lost in the champions league semi-final. We played Sport la Libertad tough. They have some top players but we were impacted by suspensions and injury. At least valentine brought the NA champions league back to the US.
Sidney Town definitely has a better chance to win the league title, I need a win to ensure the victory, and some of my players are weaker in league matches if you compared to the last cup match played in nuetral ground. Anyway, I'm still happy about this season's achievement, NA championship means a lot to me. And hopefully, I can representing USA to win the Club World Cup again.
whelp thats it. Hoping for Riverhouds to lose one of their last two matches because I'm not able to handle my own business.
I may have to rethink relying on a dirty midfielder because he seems to enjoy suspensions for our biggest matches.
Monak, my previous leading playmaker used be have dirty, he ended up missing a few important matches as well, including some Champions league finals. He's the main reason why I struggled in NA champions leagues back then. His dirty attribute didn't bring me that many penalties and free kicks though, that's why I trained him with correct.
