League of Sint Maarten season 75
Forum: League forum
Discuss your league, who are the favorites to win the league this season? Who will be promoted/relegated, how are you doing in the cup?
NT topic (23)
Here i will post anything about NT.
Surely the squad will change a lot as many very old players are in. My style is always to support young players and not keep in somebody because of old times. I will also prefer players who have necessary attributes to players missing them. With same line i was able to rise Albania out from world bottom 5 and got at least one point from every opponent and finished with positive balance qualification.
Our selection looks quite poorer than British Virgin and Turks-Caicos but lets take it step by step. Albanian looked worse :D
Shortlist rewiew:
KEEPERS
Riemersma is #1 several seasons as youngest and best. Dez is quite old, need replacement where i see Schuurmann. Sure "no" to Smedes.
Summary: ok situation with keepers
DEFENDERS
Schemerhorn- our far best winger for this period
Pasamonte- not kind of player i like. At least he has now Correct.
Aroche- will go out soon
Volkertsz- decent DC, in
Overvliet- winger#2
Engelsma- not very good DC but in
Diogo- quite old winger
Polloreno- without attributes no. Nothing special too.
Gavidia- only in very trouble.
Hubers- too old
Balbina- if he get needed attributes will have nice NT future. Without them- only interlands
Jurada- not sure what he will become. Attributes will decide. Promised to be winger.
Malott- has potential for future too but need more attributes and decision: center or wings.
Summary: quite limited choices but surely i will instruct managers about attributes. Without Correct on central defs there is no qualification matches!!
MIDS
Akersloot- possible leader of midfield
Venta- not very good but probably in
Velthuizen- not sure what to do.
Tristan- old but probably in
Riegos- in
Torroja- probably too weak because of wasted skills
Boerman- our future star
Shaffer- has chances but not sure.
Six- not very good but maybe useable
Koops- has future too
Dill- we have better ones in list but can be used
Monger- maybe
Calvo-Sotelo- too old and not best trained
Alvira- has potential for future
Breedlinden- too average player and not young
Crijnen- maybe
Ekker- ??
Astarloza- old but only normal candidate for DM
Demmer- one of future stars
Summary: very poor list at DMs but large selection of suitable AMs with some good talents
FORWARDS
Dekker- old but currently best we have
Mobley- ok
Mans- quite old and nothing special
Ojeda- no-no. Too old and weak
Gent- not good enough to my second club
Immerseel- wasted by bad management
Bakhuys- nothing special but young and can pass most of list members. In.
Ragland- average one but in
Farrington- YC8 ST but in
Summary- no star players. Attack will be our weakest part. Only 2 decent players for qualis and 3 youngsters who will be on same level one day.
At least first win is at home.
Not bad situation after first half thanks to positive GD. Now we need one more victory or 2 draws to advance. BVI looks quite tough opponent to win but if they get away points against T&C we are much closer.
Hopefully there will be some useful at my messages to some managers how to train their players.
I don't like frozen shortlists especally when there is lot of crap.
Damn we deserved a draw from this match! No we can be played off if BVI will play with reserve players against T&C and will lose with 3+ goals which is idiotic because we were far better than Turks and Caicos with 3-1 and 1-1. We just don't have enough players to have different lineups for competitive matches.
Woooww! Finally couple of new young players in shortlist. Some changes in NT as there are only interlands coming and some players who have thier interlands will be out. But not too much changes on first team players- i don't know in which day and selection will be possible playoff.
At least we are in Round 2 and competed minimum task. Tomorrow we get our next opponent but there is no easy ones to expect for us. We need very many luck for Round 3 as SM is NT basing only on mercy of foreign pullers. Only 3 seasons old league can't produce players who would be in NT level.
Well...for this time it's over. Canada was stronger, we had our chances but wasted them. Keeper had to be equal but played like sh*t. But we have just one keeper and two forwards who are at international level. They don't have best days every NT day and we have no replacements.
In interlands coming i prefer youngsters and better older ones who have some interlands remaining. If we have real choices at all.
This team was so strong, how do you get such bad results?
Sint Maarten is strong??? Maybe it WAS once. But they had no league for several times and we are only on mercy of foreigners who pull some players from Sint Maarten. Just watch our shortlist. There are many players i wouldn't take to my clubs which are quite far from European top.
Only 4 defenders have more than 12* at all and 7 more than 10*. Our third forward has only 10.2* and is 31yo. In my clubs i play mostly with 3 forwards but our 3.-5. forward are so weak that they won't fit to my clubs. Only midfield is strong enough and has any normal choices. And that you call strong??? They have only once qualified to North American championships and lost there all 3 matches without scoring a goal. Probably 16th then. Now we reached to second round (top 24) where got one draw and 7 teams of that 24 lost both matches in 2nd round...so i think we were around same level as then.
I play mostly with 5-3-2 and quite best players and still lose interlands to most countries second lineups. We have probably one of poorest selection of players in whole RS. You are welcomed to candidate next times and show us real strong level and qualifying to next World Cup
And some really idiot thinks it's very bad that some younger players appear to shortlist and that message needs thumbs down i understand that post about not qualifying to round 3 may deserve dislike but that one what give some hope for better future??
At first compare SM with British Virgin Islands and Canada. Both teams are more than 1* stronger averagely.

And now say again that Sint Maarten has SO STRONG team, and i will say how crap are your teams :D!
Thats not really the way a national team coach should talk. I hope you can respond in a more mature matter in the future.
Thank you!
