Season 21 Preparation (31)
As one season comes to a close, it's time to start preparing for the next.
Finishing 9th was an improvement over the previous season and something I'm okay with, considering how strong the teams are in the league.
My big frustration is how many games I lost by a single goal (14), which on one hand could be seen as a positive (as I wasn't being hammered by anyone) but really highlighted the difference a consistent scorer would make to the team. I've made some band-aid purchases previously but realise I now need to focus on buying some top talent.
The recent reduction in market values will bring stronger forwards within my buying reach but this is the same for a large number of clubs, so I expect to have a lot of competition as I look to bring in 2 new forwards.
I'm happy with my goalkeepers, as both have very high blocking, and my defence has a good mix of experience and youth. My midfield is also doing well, with a good variety of DM's and playmakers.
I may look to see what bargains are available in other positions but will be focused on sorting out my misfiring forwards in preparation for the new season.

I am just about to sink $41 million in a new stadium. Thus my preparation is going to be avoiding the transfer window all together as I will be in the negatives on the old balance.
I'm suprised Klinge didn't grab more goals for you Lee.
It will be interesting to see what the new re-valuing of players does to the market. It's either going to make it harder to get top players (increased competition) or create a surplus of absolute bargains. Either way, I will be a bystander in it!

That's quite the kitty you have Alex - obviously your cup run has been a lucrative one!
I have enough money to upgrade my training facility but feel it's better spent buying talent, rather than working with what I have.

I too need to upgrade the stadium and am happy to have the extra home games from the North American league again.
It'll be another busy window at my club. I retired two useful defenders and it's clear that an immediate replacement is necessary. Investing in a supertalent might also be in the cards.
All in all, my team will be taking a step back in the next season and a half to improve the Stadium and to invest in more impact players of the future. I hope that I can continue to tread water for the next season or two until my facilities have improved.

I think Jax is the winner from last transfer window, he can easily earn at least 60 M in TW this term with the new rule.
the coming season must be interesting ~

The league table looks fantastic with Canvey on top - a sign of things to come?? :)
Players more expensive, can not afford it!
Snow Elves - Considering you spent RSD 75M on 2 new players, I'm surprised to see your comment :)
Looks like it has been a busy transfer window for most teams but the two with the most activity so far are Maple Leafs (7 players in; 15 out) and Mississauga North (11 players in; 18 out)
A lot of new players to fear!

I've been on here WAYYYYYYYY too much the last 4 days trying to make deals. My persistence is paying off by getting the players I want for the right price and not trying to overpay. Good thing I'm doing F@#% all at work :P
Holan has gotten involved in a few of my deals so far lol. He swooped in at the last minute and took 2 players that I had very high interest in.

He also got involved with this player...

Luckily I was watching my under asking price bid until the very final seconds hahaha. Of course he had no idea at the time that I was the one making these bids.
My Office finishes 7-8 days before the midseason window opens so I may be in a position of needing to cease all building operations for as many as 12 days.
Of course this is not ideal but I'm still lacking an impact midfielder/defender.
My priority will be making sure to get into the group stages of North America to earn this needed Revenue.
Oh and don't worry @Lee... I still have more to come!

I have managed to sign bugger all this window. Apart from an U21 keeper.
Congratulations to all the teams still in Continental play. Hamilton FC was unlucky to go out on Away Goals but everyone else is still in play.
Canvey Island pulled a MASSIVE upset against Polar Bear Council FC. I received favorable draws in all but my 2nd round matchup so I'm due to get put in a group of death.
Ottawa has also done very well so far in the Champions League tournament. Let's keep up the great work in North America and hope for more USA and Cuba teams to drop out soon ;)

I haven't reviewed everyone's groups but I know I have a favorable Group. I should finish 2nd and advance.
My non-scientific opinion is I'm screwed in my group.
Just lost 1:0 at home to probably the weaker of my opposition, so I really need the boys to put in some strong performances to have any hope of finishing 2nd.
